Default Really...how bad is Seneca Lodge?

So really....how bad is it there? I've only stayed at the Falls, but it is all booked and on the waiting list. I have a reservation there, but have heard some bad experiences.

Should I look elsewhere?

If you drink enough at the bar the room will not be that bad

No phone (nice actually), speed channel (even better) nice resturant/bar. Rooms under the trees smell musty, if you stay in the cabins by the road (29/30 I think) they are the best. Adequate for $68 per night. Not some place you'd take your wife.

I like it. It's not like you're going to spend a lot of time there. Hang out in the bar and everything will be okay. If the AC and TV work you're set.

The restaurant was decent, my room was extremely poor dumpy quality- looked like something out of an old horror movie. I would never stay there again.

However, maybe it was the type of room they gave me. Some of the other types of rooms may be better.

I have now stayed the last 2 years aty the Hilton Garden Inn in Elmira.

Very nice rooms, restaurant/bar and pool...

When at WGI, I normally stay at the Villager Inn, downtown.

Good parking for trailers, walking distance to restaurants, Super WalMart, etc.
It was something like $80/night.

Not 4 star, but clean room, courteous folks.

It's a fine example of a 2 star motel, but as mentioned the bar is fun and the restaurant isn't bad at all.. I stay up the hill north of town at the Longhouse Manor, but their regular rooms at the Lodge Motel are fine...

Once you've stayed at the Glen Way Inn, you will NEVER complain about another hotel again.
Rooms the size of a closet, and the bathroom had carpet and what appeared to be a shower intended for a camper. One room had a big brown stain on the bed sheets.
Oh yeah, and they'd take any change you left in the room.
The guy that runs it is great, though. He's outside with fresh coffee in the morning and very pleasant.
Most of the Watkins hotels are kinda old and busted, but there are definitely worse places than the Seneca Lodge.

It's the only place I've ever stayed up there.

I go into it this way:
- It's the closest hotel
- I spend 8 hrs/day in my room and lights are off for 7.5 of that
- I'm there to drive not to write reviews for hotels.com
- The less $ I spend on hotels the more I can devote to the car
- I'm not on a family vacation or business trip
- The only social place in town is 50 ft away
- It's a better rest than camping
- Never had a problem parking my trailer

The food is good. The bar is great. If you get stuck in a room under the bar there is one bonus. You can get wireless access!! The cabins are very rustic. I only stay there in the early spring and late fall as there is no AC. The standard rooms are fine.
