let's see...if you like a plethora of insects in your room, way beat mattresses, clanging A/C's, **** water showers, paper thin walls; then the Seneca is for you and the bar is a great meeting place...food is marginal at best.

My girlfriend and I had the same thought! I bet during the DE season it would be all booked up and we'd have a place to stay at WG for free! Which means...more track days there!! Hmm......

Actually, you're going to WG to race and I'm tired when I get back to the Seneca Lodge from the track and I go to bed shortly after eating a pretty good dinner.

Watkins Glen is upstate, for lord's sake and all the hotels are bad. It does have ambiente.....it's really close to the track......

You think the Seneca Lodge is bad, have you ever been to Mossport and tried to find a motel?

Don't stay in the dog houses.....

Default All Rooms Are Pretty Bad

The first year I stayed in a "Motel Room" at the top ofthe hill by the pool. Thought, wow, this is bad perhaps it is just this room. Bugs across the floor, beds are horrible but I was more excited about the track. The next year I stayed in a normal room, just as bad, then had to stay in a cabin NOAIR!!!!!'
This year stayed in rooms under resturant, so humid and musty had tohave air on full blast to stand it.

I think I will stay in a B&B next year

Not true any longer with the new places built in the past few years, with one closer to the track......but, The Seneca Lodge hopes many people keep believing that!

Glen event 3 years ago, a buddy of mine wandered from the Tikki bar onto a booze cruise with some locals. We found him passed out in his car in the paddock at lunch time on Sunday sleeping off an interesting night.

Hey, in 16 hours, I get dropped off in Munich and work on breaking in our new car for the Ring/Hockenheim next week.................... I will have to settle for German beer and lodging at the Dorint .

Hey if you are looking for a decent...room ask for the "new" building with a king or 2 queen size, those rooms have been constructed during the last 15 years. They are claen and DON'T have the musty odor.
I took my wife and she said, oh we're camping... If that is not acceptable, then listen to Norm and stay at the Hilton in Elmira. Best advise I can offer.

Hilton Garden Inn in Elmira is "best" for the significant other. My wife will "settle" for the Falls-if we can get it booked in time each year. See all you NNJR folks next w/e.

BobT,

I now go to the ring every quarter (except winter). I was there in May and will be there in a couple of weeks.

Have fun, it's a blast.

Tony,

I forgot to mention, I go all over Europe and Australia each quarter for business...

So I am already over there which makes the cost really low...

Norm
