I do have to give credit to Max... for a guy who is only 26, he really is savvy and polished when it comes to dealing with the media and his statements during all this controversy. Like his driving, he hardly ever makes a mistake where the media can take what he said and go with it. Toto, HAM, Russell, Marko, Horner, and others on the grid can learn a lot from his way of answering difficult questions. LEC, Freddy V and perhaps the Ferrari officials are much the same in terms of being polished and not giving the media any fodder.
I agree with this. I would also add Lando to the mix of people who have a good handle on how they deal with the media. Early in Horner-gate, there was a press conference where the driver's attending were pressed on it. Lewis gave an answer with a lot of opinion and implied judgement (totally his right to express himself as he sees fit), but Lando's answer was a firm refusal to be drawn in as he did not have any real knowledge. I thought it was handled well.

I think the odds are pretty good that Mr. Hunt did just that.

I'm not a RB fan, or necessarily a Horner fan. But F1 without Horner AND Steiner will not be nearly as entertaining. We NEED the personalities. This IS entertainment after all....

In other news..... we're about to get it on down under. Home race for RIC and PIA and the third of the year. So far, RIC has not gotten the better of Yuki... don't know what his future will be without consistently beating him. On the other hand, Checo isn't the best qualifier, but if he can again finish 2nd without any drama for a third consecutive race, he has to be the odds on favorite to keep his seat for next year. Yes, a little early, but perhaps Perez is concentrating on being consistent and finishing 2nd rather than thinking he could actually beat Max.

Sainz is expected to have a go, but doctor's have been looking at him closely. Given he had organ surgery less than 2 weeks ago coupled with the high G demands on the body, I don't know if it's wise and perhaps Bearman should have another shot with a full weekend under his belt to see if he can duplicate what he did in SA.

Surgical input here: if Sainz's appendix was not ruptured and he had a routine laparoscopic appendectomy, he should be good to go. There were no medical details (AFAIK) in the lay press. However, the amount of time he had symptoms, my Spidey sense looking at the hospital pictures, and the tender way he was walking make me think he may have been ruptured pre-op (i.e. an abscess as opposed to just inflammation of the appendix). If so, this prolongs the recovery even if the operation was laparoscopic (usually longer surgery, postop antibiotics, more inflammation to resolve internally, etc.)

I'm a fan and hope he's good to go. Did enjoy Bearman, though, and think he has a bright future.

Unless Ricci can start pulling rabbits out of his hat, his shot at Perez' seat is gone. His ride for next year might follow.
As long as Perez can maintain his 2nd places, he'll last the year. If he starts lagging, like last year, toast is served.
Dunno who they'd replace him with... but RB is merciless.
Just my predictions.

I just read that Has-A-Spin had his sanctions lifted, and is hoping for a return to F1.
Without daddy's money, ain't happening. Not even with daddy's cash....

Maz-a- who??? Why would he ever have a chance back in F1, with or without $$$!!

As much as I like Danny Ric I'm afraid the ship has sailed... and IMHO they'd be nuts (even with Honda $$$) to put Yuki in a a Red Bull seat. Surprised he even still has a seat at RB but then what do I know??

The question of the day- will Jos be at this race?????
