Did Perez suddenly wake up to the fact that he is driving for his seat? Best to have a good result before the summer break, and with Max starting P10, this is his best chance at a good finish as he has had all year.
Max apparently, and I’d bet Perez also, were using a high downforce wing in Quali which obviously helped in the wet conditions. Might cause them some issues with Vmax in a dry race tomorrow since the Maccas (and Mercs?), were running smaller rear wings.

I thought they would trim out Max as he will have to overtake tomorrow coupled with the shorter DRS zone.

Anyone catch how many grid penalty spots Yuki has? 60!! He’ll be staring from the back of the F3 race 😂😂😂😂

It probably will not matter much. RedBull still has the most powerful DRS.

Wow, what a race.

I can't believe Russell pulled that off. Amazing driving.

The top cars are all so close now qualifying, strategy and mistake free driving really matter.

I sure as hell didn’t see that coming! The tyre whisperer indeed!

A great race; god I love Spa!

Why was Hamilton so pissy in the cooldown room? Its not like he got screwed over or anything like that. George won and they were free to race.

I think any guy who expects to win, but couldn't quite match pace with the guy he needed to beat, would be pissed. It's not an LH issue, it's a front running driver issue. Piastri was taking whole hunks of time out of both of the front two, but he was cool. Refreshing...

Russell may be DQed. Car was a underweight.

Saying the one stopper, which wasn't originally planned, could have contributed, as they used more rubber on the last set of tires, reducing the weight more than forecasted.

Confirmed

Hamilton inherits Belgian GP win after Russell disqualified.Confirmation from the stewards that race winner George Russell has been disqualified from the Belgian GP after his car failed a post-race weight check. Team-mate Lewis Hamilton, who finished second, inherits the win. Full stewards’ verdict to follow…

Goddammit that’s a blow to George, and such a shame.

But rules are rules. Unless it’s Dubai 2021.

It's weird. Because a lap at Spa is so long the cars don't do a post race parade lap and pick up cast off rubber on their tires. The lack of doing that might have cost Russell his win

Russel must be gutted.
Might have been the drive of his career. He deserved DoD for it, for sure!
Leaving me bummed instead of stoked, having just watched what was easily the best race in a long time...
