It is purely a performance enhancement. I don’t think there is much virtue signaling.
Yes, about 7 seconds faster around the 'ring, but I would venture to say 99.999% of customers will never get close to those limits and the same performance could have been achieved by engine mapping/boost. I'll standing by my original statement of virtue signaling via marketing to show Porsche is coming along in their iconic 911.

They are not really marketing it that way. All the ads I've seen it's all about extra performance. The car is f'n quick/fast.

Porsche already has the Taycan and Macan EV. They don't really need or want an EV 911. Was the 918 virtue signaling? No, it was about speed.

HALO car is much different. If it was a pure performance play, it would have been introduced on the GT3 first. This have the feel and smell of a trial balloon.

There's literally like 5000 posts and threads on the 992.2. no need to inject it here as well....

The gas powered engine only makes 5 horsepower more however for whatever reason Porsche has been very conservative on the tuning.

I'll keep you to that as well champ. Thankfully, we're not discussing who sent who a text and infighting for a secretary at Red Bull headquarters.

Swear I was thinking the same thing as they were describing low downforce. All I thought of was an Indy 500 type set up.

No need for aggressive foul language, this is an opinion page with varied points of view. You posted something you admitted to regretting and then called someone else out for posting about the same topic seems a little hypocritical. Would you agree?

This is my last post on this subject. The halo of the GT cars is the GT2 RS correct?

That car has always been turbo charged while all the other GT cars are normally aspirated.

The GT2 has always been the last car released of a generation and it’s always combined the most powerful engine with the GT car suspension/chassis.

Rumor has it that the 992.2GT2RS is going to be a hybrid with a system almost identical to the GTS just introduced.

This isn’t about virtue it’s about performance. Putting the pieces in place to introduce the 992.2 GT2 RS.

Honda pays Yuki another $10M/year (allegedly) which puts him at around the 10th highest salary, combined (he happens to be ranked 10th right now in drivers standings).
No other team utilizes Honda. Yuki would actually probably be taking a pay cut if he leaves RB and doesn't have the Honda kicker.
Yuki is performing quite well. RB is performing much better than his alternatives.
It maybe eating a little humble pie because Yuki didn't land Red Bull, but the alternatives in 2025 suck in comparison to RB.

Yuki signs with RB for 2025. And holds out hope that by the end of 2025 Lance is either done, or Aston is sold (and Lance is gone) and reunites with Honda via Aston.

That seems a lot better option than signing with an Alpine....

"Checo is also incredibly popular in Latin America. We sell more merchandise of his there than that of (Max) Verstappen, and when he's on his game, he's almost unbeatable."

And at the junior squad RB, Japanese Tsunoda has also secured his place.

"Yuki Tsunoda is set, that's clear", Red Bull F1 consultant Dr Helmut Marko told Kleine Zeitung newspaper.

However, the on-form Tsunoda clarified in Canada that is actually yet to sign a contract - even though Red Bull seems to have an overriding long-term deal with the 24-year-old.

"...and when he's on his game, he's almost unbeatable."
Key word is almost. Max has had his way with him regularly.
And evidence might suggest that he hasn't been on his game for quite awhile.
Regardless the reasons for re signing, it's a done deal.
We might not be privy to any escape clause held by Redbull if he continues to underperform....

One thing that I’ve learned about F1 contracts is that there’s almost always a way out of a contract, especially if it’s related to performance.

If RB loses the WCC because of Perez they might be digging up that exit clause in the contract.
