Was having issues replying last night for some reason....
We're using a friends RV spot this year - been on the waitlist for a couple years now for one of our own....

Last year we stayed at Daytona Racetrack RV - it's literally as close to the track as we are now (we're in the Geico West RV spots which is just outside the track itself but inside the first gate at Turn 1). RV park is just outside the track at Turn 3/4. Biggest difference is you have to drive in and out from there vs. walk or take a tram. We have our 914 with us so we can park in the PCA Corral.

I presume from your description that the RV park is within easy walking distance if I don’t want to drive a vehicle into the track? I’m thinking for next year planning purposes.

You CAN, its just a bit further of a walk.
First picture is Daytona Racetrack RV park. Circled is the T4 tunnel you can walk through. Easy walk.
Second picture is where we are. Circled is the T1 tunnel. Easy walk.
As of Monday this week, Datyona Racetrack RV was virtually empty. I'm surprised nobody knows about it. Water/electric hook ups and all. and stay 3 days and you get a free tank pump out for free. Not a bad deal really.

Wow that’s great. My RV is in shop getting new tires, but for next year I’ll definitely be getting a spot there!

If someone wants to split the cost of a PCA Corral Parking pass I bought, which I plan to use on just Sat. message me. You can pick it up from me at the Corral early Sat. evening when I leave and you can use it for the rest of that evening and all day Sunday.

The Mazda Cups just finished up their 2nd race. Freakin awesome race to watch from above in the Porsche Suite.
If I didn’t know any better, it looked a lot like Bumper Cars at the state fair. Best thing, wife is having an awesome time here.

I also have 1 four day all access ticket left: $100. I can transfer to your Speedway account or scan/email to your email.

They were still for sale on the website recently. Also, lot 3 (in the stores with Bass Pro Shops etc) is free parking, and not much further than lot 4, basically across the street

Great day of racing yesterday.
The 4 hour Michelin Challenge enduro from 1 to 5 yesterday almost saw the P Clubsport take 1st, but he just couldn’t catch the Mustang in the last couple laps. So close.

The Porsche VIP suite is amazing, and we also enjoyed the other side of the track hanging in the PCA Corral and seeing some pretty amazing Porsches parked there.

The grid walk and the hot pits were jaw dropping. Met lots of the drivers and saw what these guys do in the pits up close and personal.

Heading back to the track around 9 this morning and the big race starts at 1:40.

Great weather and great few days so far. Think we’re gonna extend this trip an extra day and wife will fly home Monday instead of Sunday night and I’ll start my tow home Monday morning as well (truck trailer and track car are still here form PBOC Sebring last week.)

So much fun, and the wife is having a really great time, which is awesome.

Oh yeah, Hyde Park Chop House is the real deal. When I made the reservation a month ago for last night, I had no idea the restaurant was actually in our hotel. Really wonderful meal there last night. Top of the line NY steakhouse for sure.

Off to SBUX for some refueling and outta here track bound. 24 hours, here we come…..

Sounds like fun. Are those Porsche VIP suite tickets hard to get? I presume they are up high so you get a Birds Eye view of the entire track? I may have to go that route next year, since I discovered an RV campground right outside the track.

The Suite is on the 200 level directly across from the hot pits. Amazing views of everything, and we’re being treated to lots of great food, all 3 meals and then some, and lots of goodies as well. From what I’ve been told, my wife and I would have cost $2400 for the 4 days. Some good $$, but I can see why people pay it.

Also, there were plenty of the Prevost busses everywhere on the other side that arming areas. Lots of them n

Spencer ALMOST got the Cayman to the win… I think when he jumped in for his stint he was 17th or something in the BGB car. I’ve seen him do this so many times - run from the back up to the front. Another lap or two and he’d have had the win.
Today he runs with Magnus Racing.

sitting here at our coach having coffee and going to make some breakfast, then onto the track.
