Bill paints the winning car at some NASCAR races, usually in Victory Lane, sometimes in one of the hospitality suites. He is a great guy and an architect by trade. I said I love the painting he did of me skiing. "That's not you, it's me!" lol. Just busting chops . . . .

Re BOP at Rolex. I spoke breifly with Kevin Estre before the Rolex race driving the #77 Wright Motorsports GT3R and I asked him a friendly question: "Why starting so far back in the grid?" He told me. "Its not good, the Porsche cars are at a severe disadvantage with the restrictors." I asked him if maybe the IMSA officials were taking everything into account including fuel economy and range. He said "no, its not enough to make a difference". "Sorry, the outlook is not good, but I will do my best and we'll see."
After that conversation, I lowered my expectations for the GTD Porsches, and it appears Kevin was indeed correct. The Rolex 24 is such a long, hard, gruling, (and expensive) race - dishearting to know you have little chance.

Also, I would assume 3L of fuel would be equivalent to approximately 1 extra lap. Considering how off the pace the car was at Daytona I wouldn’t think that would make much of a difference.
Hopefully someone smarter than me can chime in here and explain it to us…

I thought the same thing. I don’t really know what affect this will have, it is only a 3% increase in restrictor size. Not sure if it correlates but if it is a 3% increase in power that’s less than 20hp. Maybe I don’t have any idea how this works and it actually corresponds to more than that.

His math is correct. His unit of measure (area vs. circumference) is the difference, but his math is correct.
33mm x/+ 3% increase in circumference is 34mm.

"it is only a 3% increase in restrictor size"
It's not. It's a 6.16% increase in restrictor size. So yes, his math is wrong.
Also, the circumference is:
C = 2 x Pi x Radius
Or:
C = Pi x Diameter

Sorry to get a little off topic but was thinking about attending Sebring this year on Friday and wondering how the garage access is compared to the ROAR which was an awesome experience!
