There is no easy way to make a top D car run with a top E car anymore..... big weight reduction just isn't there to get (without CF or FG part replacement), power requires some major engine work.

Correct.
Not enough D cars to worry about anyway.
My E was a D. I changed pistons and fuel injection thingy and presto! it's now an E. $10k. Done.

Btw, Brainerd was f'ing awesome.

That track is a blast. No lift t1 at 130, up to 140+ before t2...
Back section is hilarious, on to an old access road, under a bridge and across a parking lot.
Last turn a big dip onto a big pad with ambiguous gravel edge with no walls just a big building.

Eleven 911 E cars was fantastic, so much fun in a big group of 911 E cars. Reminds me of yesteryear - back before Accumoto and PCA ruined E class with the separate slow vintage crappy tire 911 CUP nonsense.

Nord Stern knows how to do it!!!!!!! Super friendly, easy going. No big attitude. Just happy and fun.
Some of the Yankee east coast guys should retire and let these people run the races.

22 hour haul from Virginia. Each way. But I'll be back.

Largely why I went from DE to Club Racing. 30+ 944/S2/968/951 E-class fields... heaven! Always folks to race with, even lots of turtles!

Honest questions: what do the 911 Cup guys think? Are you happy with how everything is panning out? What are your plans for next year? What kinds of changes would you want to see to to come back to E?

We've got a schism right now. I think we need to bring everyone back together. And that requires understanding what all invested parties are thinking.

I think the 911 Cup registration at Road America speaks for itself (1 car).

.
Nine E cars registered for NJMP. You'd make 10 and it's a short haul from VA........

how many cars are on bias plys and how many are on radials?
The Bias plys are more period/vintage racing. Supposed they are easier on the old cars as the radials put the old tubs to test.

maybe it is time to leave the bias plys for the SVRA racers and keep radials on the PCA cars for future record breaking laps in SC's and Carreras.
Afterall, it is "PCA" racing and not "vintage" racing.

Now, im not in E class, and I love Mark White's cars but i also love watching Clarke haul the mail in his cole trickle warrior.
It is a cool class because it torsion bar air cooled fun and a lot cheaper then running a real 73RS in anger.
If i wasnt in IMSA, id be in PCA E for my weekends. (although i love how little i have to wrench on the caymans in pca..)

Rennpoints says 11 different drivers in 911 Cup have run 19 events for the year (for some reason there are 2 versions on the site...I combined)

Didn't seem slower based on our times at the past race @ Road Atlanta......

Dan tried, had a blast. Put the personal issues away and come try yourself.

I agree that everyone should set aside the baggage and focus on the problem at hand.

If the times are the same, let's take the ballast out of the cars and leave the choice of tire within the 911 Cup open (non-slicks only). Less wear on all the cars. Safer. Bigger classes. And you can choose whichever tire you prefer.
