Biggest field of E cars this year...

from my eye eye the big andr growing classes in racing are SPB, SP1, SPC, Spec Miata, Spec E30, ... IndyCar and NASCAR are spec series also to a larger extent. I don’t know if you guys want a spec class or not, but consider maybe some of the things that make these series successful. Less classes, simplified and enforceable rules, and cost containment.

For all the doom-and-gloom, let's keep the positive in perspective: at NJMP we have 9 cars signed up, which makes E the third biggest class. And just one car behind GTB1's ten. If two more cars sign up, we can have a tie for the biggest E class of the year and the second largest showing at NJMP.

Mostly it's resentment that they have so many damn cars signed up - it's a great class with some great drivers!
But just for more positive perspective: across the facility, CCA has just 25 racers TOTAL registered for their race at Lightning the same weekend. There's no reason E can't have that again next year at WGI ...

Seems like allowing the crack repair, with a required template, thickness, and material spec for the gussets would be a no brainier. If there's really that many chassis cracking... We run much bigger and sticker rubber in my club and cracks occur sometimes after many years of racing, but it's not an epidemic or anything. Every BMW ever made cracks at the rear shock mounts and they still race them.

But we can repair chassis cracks, why do people keep harping on this?
From 2019 Rulebook - Body/Chassis/Interior
"B. Additional flat metal may be welded to reinforce suspension mounting points or repair chassis cracks. Added material may not connect with roll cage components or otherwise provide chassis stiffening beyond the repair of worn areas. Welded material cannot be used for ballast."

Make sure you stock some IPAs...
Let's start at NJMP - I propose all the E cars (or as many as possible) paddock together. And let's chat Friday night. I'll buy the beers.
