I think part of the reason IndyCar has such good racing is because they limit it to one chassis. Yes it would be fun to see different chassis makers fight it out, but inevitably one would become dominant, and the racing would become less compelling.

Not sure if this is true or not, but I suspect that once the bottomless pit of alcohol and tobacco sponsorship money left racing, the sport was permanently changed. IndyCar is figuring out how to make it work in the world of smaller $$.

As a life long Ferrari and F1 fan, not sure what's worse for me, Ferrari decision making or Monaco as an F1 track.

Ferrari is embarrassing. But, they have a shot of making that better, as back when they had Ross Brawn. So there is some glimmer of hope.

But Monaco, there is no hope. The circuit has outlived its usefulness as a modern venue for F1. Mercedes finally makes a bad call with Hamilton's tires, and they don't pay because the Monaco circuit is a joke. For 50 laps mind you. Yeah, its a legendary track for F1, but that time has passed. And it can't or won't be fixed. F1 **** canned the then legendary Glen for much less.

They should switch to shifter carts to give them room to pass.

While I agree with your comments Monaco GP will never go away in our lifetime. It is way too intertwined with the history and glamour of F1.

Unfortunately you are correct. My only option is just don't turn on the coverage for Monaco.

I know it will never happen, but why not make them have a separate aero package for Monaco (meaning less of it) which allows them to run close together. They could actually pass there in the 90s, so there has to be a way to make the race more than just parade laps.

Luigi is right, Monaco will never go away because of the show that it is.

I liked Bernie's idea of hosing down the entire Monaco course every year

^^^ HA! I was discussing that with my father in law! Maybe throw in some exploding manhole covers and machine guns like in Death Race (the Jason Statham version). Now driving for Mercedes, Frankenstein!

All this being said I think the number 1 problem in F1 by far is the elimination of the grid girls! Last year Monaco said FU to the F1 and had them anyway. I did not see them this year.
