that car would have an asking price of around £650k in the U.K.
UK owners value a drivers car vs US owner values of a trophy car.

One would think CGT's would be leaving the US - my guess many have and many more will.

A .1 3RS is way more in the UK too. Same goes for the 911R.

Mid the spec different in the US? US seems to have the cheapest prices.

Relatively small island with a lot of wealth strong car culture. and the whole RHD/LHD bifurcated car markets limit pockets of supply that much more.

Seems like they still get starved for supply at times by manufacturers on certain cars regardless what side steering wheel is.

They’re all LHD but UK cars have other minor differences. If I remember correctly one of them was the headlights are set up differently to accommodate driving on the other side of the road. I’m sure someone from the UK will chime in and clarify.

Yes on headlights but any car can be adjusted for headlights. I have two US cars coming in: a 69e and 08rs. I don't think they did anything to the 69's headlights. They made me change the tail lights to orange (from red). The 08rs requires some headlight adjustment. Cars 10yrs or older get some grandfathering on inspection. Then there's another 20/25-ish yr grandfathering level.

Are you running US plates in the UK? How does the process work?

No, I'm getting the cars registered in the UK. I'll have to use a motorcycle plate for the rear of the RS. I paid a company a few hundred to take care of the customs, inspections and registration process. PM me if you want their contact info. Was pretty easy process.

No, i owned them prior to moving to the UK. It was a few hundred sterling and shipping here. That's it. 10yrs or older and owned prior to moving = 0 import duties/vat. That disqualifies one car that I really wanted to bring but would have been a grey area. I've owned a 964rs for a few years but it sat untitled in Canada until just before i moved to London. I MIGHT be ok trying to bring it here but there's a chance I lose the "prior-ownership" test given how close to my move I imported and titled in US. My '69 911e came across asap. The 08rs has to wait until jan18 to remove any potential arguments about 10yrs old.

I bought my CGT in the states after my move unfortunately. I'd love to drag it here but I think it would be subject to the fees you are referring to.

Oh, and also, you have 12mos from move date to drag over your cars free of vat/import duty.

I think I know the kind of plates you're talking about. Land Rover Discoverys/Defenders also use the squarish plate instead of the typical European sizing.

Don't know ratio of CGT US vs the world but typically 1/3 Ferrari's Lamborghini's go to the US. Plenty of money in the US it's lack of drivers I still can't understand why the CGT's aren't leaving the US.

It seems 90% of US owners don't / can't drive their CGT and if they do weather prefect to the gas station and back which was my exact drive 15 miles away.

Even if first gear is a little odd after that - perfection.

On another note test drove F40 ... no thanks
