It's not even an option just did a config on the german website. Even seatbelts with grey accent stipes cost € 1428! Not to speak of the "authentic" leather interior which costs € 23800..... Or the € 47600 liquid metal silver paint.
On the other hand, a stone guard film is a free option... Isn't that nice from Porsche?

6.57.....wow!!!!

I've always liked the 918, definitely the best looking of these Hybrid Supercars & with Porsche you know the package will be tested to the max, but this time is incredible!

& remember this is on its regular street tires! Yes the P1 might beat the time, but its tires are a lot more track biased. Imagine the 918 on more aggressive tires?

Great job Porsche!

I was thinking more in terms of a 30 year mortgage, zero down, no personal guarantees, with loan forgiveness after 5 years of payments.

Nice time. Not only for the time itself, but for the room it clears for lesser GT cars to get quicker. Makes me look forward to the GT3 RS.

Changes everything regarding this car.
And that's with "poser" 21 inch wheels. Imagine how much faster it would be with 18s, or better yet 17s! [/sarcasm]

Nice try frayed, that can only happen if Obama was in charge of Porsche financing.

Yes I noticed that as well....unless he was out of juice to add power he should have hit over 300 kph easily as his entry on the straight was over 150 kph and he had 28 seconds of full throttle...

Keep in mind that the record setting car was a special lightweight version according to AutoWeek.
I highly doubt that this race version will be available to customers at any price near list ...

The 887-hp supercar was equipped with the optional “Weissach Package” that sheds of some interior amenities and adds some lightweight carbon-fiber parts, magnesium wheels, flame-resistant upholstery, racing belts and aerodynamic aids for buyers who hope to be on the racetrack more than the road.

+1 I was just gonna say......he may have depleted the battery. Maybe he was fiddling with the control to make sure it was set in the right mode, but there just wasn't any more juice.

As explained in the other thread, it's just a Weissach package.

Not sure what you mean. According to the configurator, the 918 Spyder with Weissach Package can be had for $929,950.

Incorrect, the Base price is $845,950... You will pay $84,000 over list for the lightweight model

10% over list doesn't seem extraordinary.

I highly doubt any customers could even come close to a 6:57 lap time.
