Default Air filter--$500+ for the Porsche part?

The Porsche air filter for the '05 motor (996.110.275.92) is quoted at more than $500. Is there an equivalent K&N part that you use? This is the oval filter that the carbon fiber shroud wraps around, but I don't think it has gold or platnium elements in it!

dont check the price on the gear box oil filter then.
the one for the sequential in the 09 cup is over 300 bucks and it looks just like a wix fuel filter

That part/price includes the CF surround. IIRC it's a BMS filter so look around, they're available....

Thanks, but their CF surround has s different part number, and PMNA has confirmed the $500 price for the air filter element only. I think it's a BMC air filter, but I'm not finding it yet....

I looked for an alternative as well, and yes, it is made by BMC. The face of mine started to deteriorate. I ended up gluing washable K&N filter foam over the face. Please let me know if you find an alternative.

I looked also and didn't find any alternatives, so ended up buying the PMNA part. I can confirm it is only the element, not the surround. I'm in the wrong business!

Default Replacement air filter

OK, I was at the PRI show and sat down with Green Filter USA http://www.greenfilterusa.com/ and showed them an old BMC air filter off an 05 Cup. They are interested in manufacturing a small quantity run of filters for me so I'm negotiating with them to make 20 of these filters (not sure if they were stock on the 03 or 04 Cup also). This company is really first class. I believe they built the air filters for the IMSA 10 and 11 Cup cars but I need to get some documentation from them.

The purpose of this post is to see if there is interest in a high quality replacement air filter for under $300 that is at least as good as the new BMC filter. I'd love to hear comments from you guys regarding which years used the filter the same as on the 05 cup and if there is an opportunity to sell 20 or so. Also express concerns that you or others might have. I need to make a commitment in a week or so. Please e-mail me at jandsaustin1 at verizon.net. Thanks a bunch

Default Air filter color

OK, looks like I'm pulling the trigger and will order 20 filters. Since this company makes the majority of their filters green color, I wonder if you guys would prefer to have them look just like they do now or you don't care. Personally, I'd like to see them green, but don't want to do it if it is a negative.

Your feedback would be helpful, thanks.
