Default PCM upgrade

Hey guys! I need some advice. I have 2018. The dealership told me that a module was damaged in my unit. I'm unable to use Porsche Connect and the navi doesn't allow my to all of the options.

I going to replace it with an aftermarket unit.
Question: If you have replaced/upgraded your unit, where and what brand did you purchase? If you have photos, I would love to see them.

Thanks

Not sure if replacing it with an aftermarket is an option as its just a screen on the dash. The actual unit is in the glove box.

Thanks! I didn't know that! 🤦🏾‍♂️ So, I need to replace the module(s)?

Did they tell you which module specifically? Can you elaborate on what functions you are missing?

There are some folks who have replaced the PCM --someone I know on the facebook group has had it done to have a passenger screen:

I apologize for the delay. My system is not allowing me to connect to Porsche Connect. I'd contacted Porsche support. They performed several diagnostics on their end. I also took it to my local Porsche dealership. They performed a system reset. That didn't remedy the issue

I connected Porsche support again. They realized that I must have a defective module(s).

To further explain the issues, my system no longer allows allows satellite or 3D navi viewing. No 'real time' traffic feature. It has the 'generic' navi screen. Also, I can't access the gracenote option.

No satellite or 3D nav seems like what the WMD1 campaign was for, I had a similar issue where the satellite overlay no longer worked and all it needed was a software update --Do you happen to have a black or silver car appear when you go to the Car menu in the PCM? Further, if you go into your PCM "Set > System Settings > Software Update > Version Information and check the versions if you have a different Software version than MHI2_US_POG24_K5136 1416

Here's a thread discussing the update: https://rennlist.com/forums/panamera...-possible.html

There is no aftermarket for 2018. They are talking about the 3g module, it isn't damage, it is more that USA don't support 3G. The questions goes what are you trying to do? Are you trying to add phone lock/unlock and remote start ?

3G module is for the tracking system (Porsche Car Connect - vodafone provided, remote controls, car tracking and security). The MIB has 4G (Porsche Connect, satellite maps, etc).
