Why not just get the factory latch to fit the new lights then? Why was this kit necessary?

I think someone posted it earlier. the new one have a sleeker line while the old one doesn't . so it change the whole look of the car. see it as the old one looks like 991 and the new 971.2 looks like 992

bumper is the same no change. i got to adjust the hatch about 5mm so i m bringing it to a body shop to have them align it cause i couldn't do it myself. the wiring was the hardest part cause no one ever done the USA to Euro. As america use the brake and signal as the same signal. the Rest of the world use the amber signal which the 971,1 have it too but America disable it

Is this an aftermarket latch/tailgate? Why not just get one from the factory that had the new shape for the new taillights?

I don't think anyone makes an aftermarket latch? It seems like a really odd part to make after market?

That was what I did. I still need to realign the latch/Hatch, cause you got to remember you got to get remove the OEM one and replace the whole thing and realign it

so much confusion. So you bought the new hatch from the factory? Why did you talk about a supplier making some new aftermarket lights early in this thread?

they are still planning to bring something similar to 971.1 later on with similar tail light like 971.2 but without changing the hatch. Meaning with the animation and similar look

One member got confuse. It is OEM hatch with Aftermarket Lights. cause the OEM light won't work with animation and 971.1 don't have the wiring for the animation

So your lights are after market and Not OEM. Got it. But then why would your trunk not be aligned?

Soo he installed an OEM facelift hatch and then went with an aftermarket set of lights? Why wouldn't you go with the OEM set of lights? The wiring harness?
