cause it isn't 3 pieces, it is 1 piece, and i need to realign the hatch. so it is off a bit like 5mm, but it is a lot of work just to move it, so i m fine with it at the moment

A new hatch had to be sourced, primed, painted, and installed, just needs a bit of adjustment but it is a lot of work.

The light is attached to the hatch -- the hatch seems poorly aligned to me.

If the hatch isn't aligned, nothing else attached to the hatch will align like spoiler and lights.

ya it is hard when i m doing it myself LMAO. i had to realign the spoiler cause it was off when I put it on, but ya i'll do it when I got time or when it is cooler out

Why did you get a new hatch? I thought these lights are retrofits to the older rear 971?

yes I knew the shape was different. I started this thread asking if there was a set of lights that fit the old latch that looks like the new one with the clear solid bar of light in the back.
this aftermarket one is the new shape. Why is this necessary. Why not just buy the whole latch and factory lights then install it with some programming.

you are installing aftermarket lights right?

i was asking about rear lights that fit the old 971 rear but look like the new style. Not worth it to me to do all that work just for a clear light look. But good for you

I'm not the one who did the retrofit.... that would be the other user who had replied here with pictures on his white car.

@Andy Liu installed aftermarket hatch and OEM lights as far as I know. He claims his vendor is working on a new product that will fit 971.1 cars.

got it now makes sense if aftermarket hatch you also need the new bumper cap under the lights to fit the new lights.

too much work for the clear light look.

I don't believe a new bumper is needed, just the hatch, some wiring and coding.

You could always go for the 971.1 Tinted Clears if all you want is the clear look.

I'm hoping @Andy Liu 's vendor comes through with a 971.2 style center bar that won't need a new hatch --I would like a continuous light strip instead of the middle break we have now.

oh yeah no new bumper needed since the new shape is in the middle section under the lights which is part of the latch

I have a 2020 GTS so I already have the blacked out lights. Just curious about these lights out of boredom really.
