im sure that will add a little. But from what I've read and seen tested it's not like 335 or M3/4 where you do sport cat or delete and tune and make tons of power. From what I've seen you need 93 oct to make power with a tune otherwise you're just making more heat. Not sure the 15ish whp is worth while to delete the cat and deal with possible warranty issues. Now I can track the **** out of it and not worry

Not comparable. The m2 looks like a smaller m4, but in reality the m2 is much more playful and fun on twisties, when pushed a little bit. Steering and the balance of the car is better imho.
I have to say the m2 impressed me! Dont forget the manual.
Only city driving perhaps the m4 is better.

Plus, that driver's seat in the M2. What's up with that. I really prefer my seats not to be slanted.

Yeah I really like the M2 but it's these things that make me really bummed. I wish the car cost a tiny bit more and offered a bit more interior. I know it defeats the purpose of an entry M car though. Or just offer full leather as an option and the F8x's seats as an option as well. I would be willing to bet BMW could make some good money on this.

However, I really wish they made it a bit lighter. If you compute out interior and exterior volume against weight it seems obvious that the F80 is made with quite a bit lighter/more expensive materials.
As you say, it also goes for the inside.
One particularly nagging insult added to that injury is that the HK audio system is substantially less capable than in the 3-series. Less speakers, no eq, less power. It should cost quite a bit less, but some genius has decided that the first BMW audio upgrade in the U.S. is $875 unconditionally, no matter the car model and audio system capabilities. The 2-series is just not as much cheaper than the 3/4 series as the materials used would indicate.

I tried to build a signal green M2 through my
Dealer and they denied it. Bummer.
I will probably get one just as a fun toy for track days to pass sound at Laguna Seca.

The M2 feels like a modern E46 M3 with a return to a connected feeling to the driver with great feedback and the M4 has become more of a GT cruiser like the 6 series.
There is a more limited M2 CS that will be coming very soon with the S55 motor from the M4 but we will see if this will throw off the balance and handling character of the car compared to the N55 motor.
