As future GT4 owner, July delivery, I now lurk on the "4" Board. Being very poor, due to Mooty's surplus parts store, I can only afford a GT4 and not any version of "3". I also only drive an M235 that has enough "punch" to stay ahead of most Prius on the road and brakes good enough to avoid those who "cut in" at the last minute. Having only spent five minutes road testing a GT4 before placing order, I wouldn't trade it for ANY BMW.

As far as I can tell... BMW has lost it's plot for a while now.
Also I wouldn't be so certain that the M4 GTS will hold its value. 700 cars wordwide may not sound like a lot. But you need to find 700+ person who are willing to burn 130k+ on a tuned M4. It doesn't reality have any collectable factor.
Whereas for the GT4... They make 2000 odd cars worldwide... But there are way more than 2000 people who will be willing to pay MSRP for it.
While it's true that the GTS is not the same car as the "base" M4, and I understand the analogy to comparing a Cayman S to a GT4, the thing is that even the base Cayman generally got pretty positive feedback from day 1. The M4, notsomuch. It's certainly possible that it's so vastly improved that none of that criticism really even applies to the GTS, but I think it's fair to use the regular M4 as a point of reference.

When my E92 335is sells, I won't be going back to any turbocharged car until MGU-H makes its way into a production car I can afford, and maybe not even then.

The M4 GTS is not a tuned M4.
Unless you also think the GT3 is also a tuned Carrera.
Smart move, I do the same. I am sorry to say but GT4 is to vanilla for this fire cracker. Its No sound imposer in GTS, its minimum sound isolating material as well. Its loud, 111 decibels. This thing will feel way more racecar from the instant first few meters than GT4. If you dont enjoy that it might bee the wrong car. Porsche are to common..

My main reservations about the GTS are its size and its looks.
I do agree that the styling is a bit juvenile which flies in the face of my usually "understated" preference. I wanted to do CF wheels but couldn't stomach the price.
I'm not sure if this car has the artificial exhaust noise piped into the cabin like the reg F80's. There is mention of new materials for the system (all Ti) and the video clips do sound promising. My hesitation would be with the deletion of the back seat, there's ample space for resonance (drone) from an aggressively pitched exhaust (that is the SINGLE most annoying factor I experienced with my 1M: and is pleasantly abscent in the GT4).
With its exclusivity (700 units world wide), this actually would discourage me from using it as intended (extensive track work), for my average skills, I can see myself getting over my head quite easily; I don't want to be known as the guy that wrecked his ultra-rare M4GTS on track.
It will come down to as some mentioned, an extended testing period, at the end, there'd be two very happy/ lucky car owners!
Just dont ride this lowest setting on Nur, it will fly off track☺️. In its lowest setting GTS will make the GT4 feel like lincon navigator☺️

Where was that Porsche pic taken? I must confess, some DE's you go to around here make GT3 and GT4 look like Honda Civics!
