I would step back from the kool-aid, and understand that Nur93 is not trying to troll anyone or anything.

If you don't like the M4 GTS that's fine, and it's completely your perogative, but try to have some sense of decorum.
Did you actually listen to that video? And you actually think that sounds better than anything, much less an NA flat six? Seriously? My blender sounds better than that thing.

And decorum, again are you serious, after he's being doing nothing but trolling and being an *** in both of these threads on RL?

Yeah, no trolling here: "Yes, its the VW beetle convention "

So, to answer your question, I would get a GT4 over the GTS if it has to be one or the other.
I think this is the most accurate statement concerning the two cars (indeed the two brands: Porsche and BMW). They each have their strengths and weaknesses and their approaches to street and track really are very different. Personally , I agree with preference of the GT4 over the M4 GTS mostly because it pushes towards simplification /reduced weight. This simplification is what both brands need to get back to. In an effort to appeal to their perceptions of what the USA (their biggest market) wants they've each gotten a bit overweight with their marque cars. IMO

Moving right along....

On face value, given the lack of info on the GTS, it's seems a foregone conclusion that the GT4 is the keeper, especially when you're talking to a GT4 owner....or hell, any Porsche owner or fanboi. I find it hilarious that there are people who don't even own/ever owner a GT4 or GT car for that matter, who start fights on threads like this. I think everyone is entitled to an opinion, but be nice about....or don't open your mouth.

I think you have to be open minded to get the most out of life. It could very well be that the GTS is a fabulous car, the probability of that is very high based on what the media is saying already. The GT4 is a wonderful car, but it's not without its flaws, and to be honest, it's so good at so many things that it's missing some character (flaws), and so to some that might make it less of a special car...still special, but not (IMO) 997 GT3 special. I like it a lot, I sold my .2RS to get one...and now I have driven it a lot. To me, I think the GTS has a shot at being more special, and that's why I plan to live with both for a while before I make a decision on which to keep. I like the looks, but then I've always liked the look of M cars. My favorite color is orange, so there's that....and I wear clown shoes, so match made in heaven I guess.

Wow, just stumbled across this thread. M4 GTS seems to be better received in the GT3 section?

We have both a GT3 and GT4 and, to me, the M4 GTS looks like a rather appealing alternative to those cars. The performance numbers are close to the GT3, the multi-way passive dampers likely work better on track than PASM, and I think it looks pretty good.

I'm glad that BMW got serious and a produced a legit track machine like this. The more competition Porsche has, the better.

1:09.6 for the M4
1:09.2 for the GT3

I'm a little surprised, the GT3 looked a bit slower on track. Pretty much same performance.

Looks like he was having way more fun in the GT3, the M4 looked too easy and not as involving.

I thought the opposite. Looked like the GT3 understeered more.

I will never doubt the M4 power and I am sure it is a heck of a car. The same I feel about a Corvette. But neither cars emotionally move me like a GT3/GT4 Porsche does. I have great respects for Sport cars but I own only ones that move me when I sit there and look at them. The M4 does not move me but that is me personally. I think who ever grabs one of these will be fortunate with only 300 coming to the US. It will be an exclusive car for sure and if you are a BMW fan you will be getting one heck of a car- but it is ugly and I have seen it live

When you think about that this tested M4 GTS was 137kg more porky than the tested 991 GT3 you instant realize that the M4 is the overall faster car if they got same pork on them. Most gt3 we see on track got some more pork as them got cage and big gastank etc. (This One is small 64l tank and no cage) and some extra bits and bobs, hence it will not differ this much i guess.

Damn, thats a powerhouse from BMW right there..

Gts is 4 sec faster than normal m4 on sachsenring. <br/>Reminds me that slicks car GT4 clubsport is 3 sec faster than normal stock gt4 with cup tire on short hockenheim. Here at sachsenring the 991 gt3 Is only 2 tenths faster than m4 Gts, still Gts much more porky👏
