GT350
[QUOTE=Para82;13135145][QUOTE=baege;13133939]Hmmm. Maybe there is something wrong with my car. Below 5,000 rpm, I need to give extra amount of gas when I heel toe downshift. Above 5,000 rpm, you just need a small blip.
Just took the Shelby out for a drive for the first time in a week (raining past 5 days straight) epic experience - anyone here with $60,000 burning a hole in their pocket do yourself a favor and get this car. Nothing like it.
Struggling with a decision to jump or not to jump on a 2017 GT350 allocation. I love my 911 and while I know this car is entirely different, I am hoping for an awesome (yet different) driving experience with a GT350 as well. Problem is I have had German cars all my adult life, culminating with my 911 Turbo. Friend of mine suggested I drive a regular 5.0 GT Mustang, which I did last week....and I was not impressed. My modded GTI handles way better, and I think had more immediate throttle response on the same roads as the 5.0. I literally drove one right after the other on the same roads....This car would be my daily, but if it doesn't handle MUCH better than the 5.0 GT I don't think I will be happy with it. Tell me guys is it totally different than a Mustang GT? I am thinking it has to be to have all the rave reviews both in automotive print and on this forum......Thoughts?
Driving a regular 5.0 and basing an opinion off that would be like me telling someone to drive a base Carrera to get an idea of what a GT3 is like. Hope that answers your question.
Also if you think this car is going to replace a 911, you're making a mistake. Just as you would be mistaken if you thought a 911 could replace the GT350. It's two entirely different driving experiences. I will say the GT350 is far more exciting to drive than any of the Carrera/Carrera S/ Turbo editions currently available.

Are you looking to replace the 911?
As it was already mentioned in earlier posts the Shelby won't make you happy as a replacement car knowing you've been a German car addict to this date. I would consider that car mainly as an addition to the stable. You could have fun on week ends or occasional track days but not as a daily driver. I have not driven a single mustang yet but sat in a showroom gt and shelby. Not impressed with the interior.
GL with your decision.

Thanks Abcut! No it would be an addition to the stable....will keep the 911 for sure. Plan is it would take the place of my GTI as my DD, which I still will keep for less than desirable weather days. Sat in a GT350 and like I said, drove a Mustang GT. Really trying to discern a difference between the two before I commit to a GT350. The GT seemed heavy, big, ill handling and sluggish (well, yeah I guess so compared to what I am used to, LOL) and I really want to hear how much better the GT350 is in those areas....Thanks!
I wouldn't base it off the materials even either - the interior is completely different and the entire front half of the chassis has been reworked for the GT350 (only the headlights are the same although they sit 2 inches lower in the GT350 body).

Porsche 911 / GT350 is a winning combo - this will cover all your gearhead needs no doubt.
GT350 Track Pack 3,760 lbs - it will never feel like my 3,000 lb Carrera - but that's ok because it still handles like a dream and has a 526 hp flat plane crank that rivals the best engines in the world. It's an epic driving experience. Did you see that it beat the Ferrari 488, Porsche GT4, Viper ACR, Bentley GT3-R in 2016 Performance Car of the Year? They said it was better than those cars "by a longshot".
CA thats my dilemma! I basically told the sales guy when I got out of the GT that I didn't like it at all, honestly. The interior trim is a Ford, not a Porsche or an Audi, but I am ok with that if the driving experience of the GT350 is similar to our cars.....but not like a Mustang GT.
