The times on the East and West are real times but the 1:56.xx is a hopeful guess, with a little more work on the aero maybe some weight. It will be a ST1 car and I prefer to run full slicks so I'll just have to see how it shakes out. Should be a really fun year. What do you race?

I love mine too, it used to be my sleeper, but now it's so extreme I can't sneak up on anyone the Cup Cars and ACR-X's since it doesn't look "official". You still AWD? If so, just throw some coilovers on that bad boy some drop links and a rear sway, then get a good setup guy. That is enough to run with most any street legal cars out there, assuming you have at least a tune.

ok So I am have PS3 & GT5 and I downloaded the new Corvette C7 DLC.
The car weight says it's 1500kg. So 3300 lbs. Very similar to the 996 Turbo in weight and hp/tq

Also ran a 1:35.9 at Laguna Seca with street tires (hard compound).

996 TT is right at around 3500lbs. Kinda close, but not a whole lot.

GM hit us with some marketing nonsense when they kept hyping the 99 lbs they lost in the frame and some they lost elsewhere without mentioning in the promo that the C7 overall weight will actually be heavier than the C6. Typical GM.....

Yeah, real world. Don't get me started on Porsche and their claimed weights. Might be 3395 with PCCB, no fuel with zero options and the spare out and sport seats.

Ive read that the C6 Z06 weights officilayy 3180lbs and the C7 90lbs less in the tub, but a little heavier overall.. What are the real corber weights of a Z06?

The new Viper in the lightest trim is 3300Lbs

Thats very close to RS weight. My real corner weights should add up to 3050 no gas.

Kind of a puzzle. Yes, they went from Steel frame to Aluminum frame and saved almost 100 lbs. They also went to a carbon fiber roof and a carbon fiber hood. They also went with narrower (lighter) wheels, yet the car's weight went up?

Weight adders:

- The new 7-speed tranny
- The bulkier interior
- Dry-sump (the standard C6 doesn't have it, only the GS/Z06/ZR1 do)
- DFI

The C7 will surely be faster than the C6GS, and the C6GS on good tires is already plenty fast, near GT3 fast.

C7+splitter+wing+headers+seats+18"+freeflow ==> GT3RS killer for 1/2 the price.

More like 70's. The C7 starts at 53k. That's about half of an RS + 20k in upgrades if that. Remember, 20k goes a much longer way on Corvette's.

Jury is still out on the LT1 though.

Starts at 53K but with the right go faster stuff its more like $65K - $70K I bet, but we will see.

$20K did not go very far when I looked at MTI's stuff in '08 when I wanted to buy a Z06. MTI track upgrade for current Corvettes adds up to $30K quickly.

I have not looked recently but it adds up. certainly more then the $3K Club sport and $2K LSD on a GT3RS.
