When a person has to nitpick on the slightest of details (cupholder? partially obstructed gauges? lack of alcantara headliner?), it just underscores what a great overall package the 911 has become, is, and will continue to be.

Thanks for posting. They really should have compared the C8 to the Cayman (or perhaps the 718 GT4) based on the price. I think that Porsche is going to suffer some sales loss from the C8. Perhaps not so much from the 911, but certainly from the GT4/Spyder. And the asking price of the 4 cylinder Cayman/Boxster just seems downright silly and embarrassing now.
And Porsche better be modifying the dash of the 992 as we speak so all the gauges are visible. That’s just inexcusable. Who would have thought we’d ever see a review where the interior of the Vette is rated higher than that of the 911?

I'm surprised because Jason Camisa's review of the C8 was mixed at best. In a lot of ways it sounded like a somewhat disappointing regression from the C7.

These guys must be high on crack. Just looking at the interior doors on the C8, they look cheap as Hell. That long stack of buttons?? Hard pass.
Also interesting that the price as tested on the 992 was barely over base price of the S, meaning this car had no options- did it have PDCC? RAS? Sport PASM??
When I sat in the 992 last week, the gauges looked fine to me, just maybe some getting used to-- oh well, some of this interior stuff is subjective and according to what you like.

After FINALLY picking up my car yesterday I was surprised that.......wait for it........I could see all five dials. The outer two were BARELY obscured, but for all the hype over this I don’t get it. At all. They’re fine!

Yep. It’s like people being hypercritical of the cup holder. They latch on to a few reviewer comments without any firsthand experience of the car.

Interesting comp between the rear weight distribution on both cars.. 64% on the 911 and 61% on the vette. It’s almost as if the 911 is balanced like a mid-engine

I sat in the 992 and couldn't see all the gauges. It's a legitimate complaint for most. Depending on height and arm length, it's likely different for people. I would say for most folks, the outer dials will be blocked.

The 991 was more mid engine than any 911 before - the engine actually sat on top of the axle, as opposed to aft like previous 911s. The 992 is the same or even more so - it’s not surprising to see it balanced close to a true mid engine car.

Edit: Also, I can't wrap my brain around the square shape of the C8's steering wheel.
