No, they only had a chance to drive the Turbo, but since it is the (almost) identical engine as the U.S. Audi Q5 (european version is a diesel) and roughly the same weight, it will be somewhere around 5.2-5.4 seconds I guess...

Audi SQ5 does 0-60 in 5.1 sec

Wow, that side view of the Macan looks terrible re: the sloped/chopped look of the c pillar and back glass.

That black glass is an option here in europe called "privacy glass". We are not allowed to get front side windows and the windshiled tinted. It's never a standard option on cars.

Personally I like the raked C-pilar very much, but that plastic sideprotector looks horrible indeed, but no doubts that there will be an option to paint it.

I also think that these pictures look slightly photoshopped (have the magazine here) so this might be some kind of distraction, since Porsche doesn't have released official pictures yet. Maybe some sort of agreement, so that AMS could have the scoop. Not sure.... Just guessing

I bet it works when you see it in person.

Like always with Porsches
On pictures I rarely like them and those that I do like on picture, mostly underwhelm me in person, like the 918 for example....

The word on "teh interwebs" is that the pictures from that german magazine are Photochopped... for what is worth and giving them a second look I tend to agree.

As a graphic designer I tend to agree just by looking at them.

I also agree. I have the magazine on my iPad and there are definitely spots that are not natural looking. OTOH, it will be not far off the final design I guess. They do have driven the car, but they say nothing about if the car was naked or had camouflage.

I guess we'll have to wait two and a half week, untill the official introduction of the car.

The Audi Q5 in the US uses a 3.0L supercharged engine. The Macan S engine is a turbo....

Indeed, at least according to the early reports. I am still hoping that the Macan S will be as fast as SQ5, engine difference notwithstanding.

I am very anxious to see the pricing on options since I would not be happy with a stripped S. The SQ5 can be had nicely equipped for ~55K, based on Cayenne pricing I would extrapolate that a similarry equipped Macan S to be ~65K. Any more than that and it may not sell as much as they hope. In fact, if they equip the Turbo as well as the Cayenne, it would make more sense to get a Turbo stripper than a loaded S.

Apples to apples I think a macan is worth $10-15k more for improved driving feel and communication. Audis are always a but numb. If someone doesn't care about that aspect of a vehicle I think they should save their money and get a q5.

Nice lines. I fear it will be much less utility/cargo than x3 or q5.

I had a 2007 x3 and it was a great little sport wagen. Awesome in the snow actually. Terrible offroad though. The new x3 looks really awkward to me. I don't really resonate with the Audi brand at all but the q5 looks a lot better to me. Again I think the macan is for those who cherish driving dynamics first and utility second.
