Default lights in the trunk area

Is it only me or are the lights in the trunk area completely useless? Even in my parents Kia Forte you have great lighting in the trunk area. In my Macan you can't see anything in the trunk at night. Just curious if there is any adjustment I can make those lights brighter.

Perhaps you can put in brighter LED bulbs.

Thank you, seems to be the only solution.

On the other hand, WTF Porsche!! You buy a Luxury car and now you have to fiddle in some cheap LED bulbs risking messing with the electronics and loosing warranty. Why can't they put something appropriate in there? Don't they test the cars?

I installed these in the cargo area... they help quite a bit, but the effect is incremental, not revolutionary

Can you post pics of where you placed them in the cargo area?

Sure... they are simply a replacement for the factory LEDs. These have 6 emitters per side, IIRC the factory ones have one or two.

Nice. Direct pop-out replacement without any re-wiring? No codes being thrown?

I removed the whole rear light but can't figure out how to remove the bulb itself. Can you help me with that?

Here is the instruction sheet from the eBay product listing. It is not in English, but the pictures are pretty clear. You are essentially snapping apart the light enclosure, removing the circuit board and replacing it with the new circuit board, and then snapping it all back together. No glue or screws involved...it is all a snap fit. Then of course just plug it back into the wiring harness. Hope this helps!

just installed these lights. What an improvement!
only needed a trim tool to remove the light assembly from the trunk. Unplug harness, take off plastic cover. Replace the light and install. It was very smooth 5 mins job. Thanks for sharing.

Orignial
