Anybody else noticed that TYD on the web has gone back and forth between the "classic" and this new look for the map a few times recently? I like this with the little stats panel and the bigger picture of the car. But I can't imagine driving backwards all the way across the Atlantic like that
After a long wait, we picked up our new GTS today. We were very fortunate to spec it out pretty heavy and love the personalization of the build. Drove home in the rain today (NVA to RVA) and placed in the garage next to its sibling. Appointment for film and ceramic not until next Monday so it will see limited service til then. Best of luck to everyone waiting for their ship to come in. TTFN
My last two cars were a 991.2 C2S 7M and a 2019 Lexus RCF (high revving NA V8 with Invidia exhaust). Both very fine cars in their own right. But, they are low-slung 2 seaters that eventually got the best of my age and chronic back issues. Research for a replacement took me to the Macan GTS because it is a nice blend of performance, handling, sound and importantly, ergonomics. I found a loaded 2022 Chalk with CPO. Easy answer. This gets us to GTS number 2.
My wife, who is anything but a car person (Toyota's for life), drove the GTS a few times and liked the size, ride quality and ergonomics. Uncharacteristically for her, she said she wanted a Macan. She was particular about color and matching stuff and I was particular about performance stuff. A 4 cylinder Macan was of no interest to me so I found that my local dealer (Richmond VA) could order us a "S". We configured a Papaya S the way we both wanted it and found that the price was taking us into GTS territory. The local dealer had no allocation for a GTS so I made some calls and found one available at a bit over 2 hours away at Chantilly Porsche. Order placed, order froze 4/25, production complete 5/27 plus 4 week vacation at Emden, boat ride to the dealer on 7/10. Burmester amp missed the boat but came in air mail last Friday. After a 4 week vacation at the dealer, we took delivery yesterday. Now we are both driving a GTS and very happy. Thanks for asking.
