What happens when getting Porsche services at a dealership ? Is the inov software overwritten? Porsche gave me a 24 Macan loaner while my car is in for service and I was going to get it for the wife for her birthday. I kept trying to activate AA and discovered this thread . What a joke. Brings back memories of google maps being removed from my 911. Selling dealer said to buy a new car to get it back. I have a few f those AA boxes, they are glitchey if changes are made and can brick if updated . Some need wi-fi, bluetooth and location active and will grab or drop log-in at any time. They also need a high quality data cable which may need frequent replacement . A on\off inline switch has become mandatory to keep from wearing out the usb-c hookup in the car due to the constant need to reboot. Having multiple units with multiple phones will work but is a game of musical chairs . I play the game but wifee says she will keep her current ride that has AA. sale opportunity fail.

I also want to share my positive experience with InnovativeSoftNZ. . . Based on the glowing comments in this thread, I purchased their Android Auto update for a Macan "95B.1" a few weeks ago. Since this vehicle has PCM4.0, no remote access was required. They were quick to respond via WhatsApps during NZ daytime business hours (evening USA), and answered all my questions. After I provided my VIN and PCM version, they promptly created the custom software update, and sent directions for me to complete via a small-capacity SD card or USB drive. I followed the steps via USB, and the update took less than 15 minutes to complete. The entire process was smoothe, from inquiry to purchase to installation, and now both Apple Carplay (factory-installed) and Android Auto are working perfectly.
Thanks again to all who made time to recommend InnovativeSoftNZ and other great vendors on this forum.

Best spending of $$ for the Macan
100% agree. Getting Raymond to install this necessary software upgrade that Porsche has failed to do was the best thing I could have invested in.
Ray was very helpful, efficient and went out of his way to deliver an expert service that has made my 2024 GTS that much better to be in now.
Thank you. Highly recommend.

Raymond just installed the full screen AA in my 2020 Macan. Works flawlessly. He is a wizard. Very impressive the way he can do this from across the world.

Android Auto in my 2022 Macan
Add me to the list of satisfied customers who used Innovative Soft to configure my PCM and allow it to use Android Auto. I have a 2022 Macan S.
Innovative Soft did a great job. It would have gone more smoothly if I had understood how many and what type of USB C to A adapters I needed. My car only has two USB C ports and no SD slot so I needed two USB C to A adapters. The A end needs to be female and the C end needs to be male. Once that was sorted, the install went very smoothly and only took a few minutes with Innovative Soft remoting into an old laptop that was plugged into my car. I had cybersecurity concerns, but after reading all the great reviews, I chanced it and Innovative Soft was very professional, patient, and helpful.
I chose the full screen version of Android Auto, but note that this will be a wired connection unless you also get a wireless Android Auto adapter. Innovative Soft can advise you on what to order.
Another note, you access Android Auto on your PCM touchscreen by pressing Apple CarPlay. Too bad the Android Auto icon can't be added to PCM, but this is a minor quibble.
Shame on Porsche for not making this standard to start with and then for leading me on about it eventually becoming available. I am mystified that they do not want to enable Android Auto for their existing customers now that I have seen how quickly it can be accomplished.
It is good to know that companies like Innovative Soft have the capability to configure the PCM and are able to explain the process to a layperson like me. Thank you Innovative Soft!

Me too
Picked up our 2024 Macan S a week ago. Tried the smart world Android auto carplay emulator and it was okay but a little buggy and not full screen. Decided to go with the full screen innovatiesoftnz solution and the install went seamlessly. Haven't been on the road with it yet but I expect no problems and appreciate their good work.

My 24 Macan only has CarPlay.
But the CarPlay App is not even visible unless I connect an iPhone.
It disappears once the iPhone is not there.
Is this the way they all work or is there an issue in my car?

Yes, that is how it works

Not sure about your question. My understanding is that although Macans come with AA already embedded in the PCM, Porsche chooses not to enable it. You can have it enabled through one of two online services, one of which is Raymond at Innovativesoftnz, com. I had Raymond activate my AA last August and it works well. I use it primarily for Waze. I also use a module to make it a wireless connection, but this is not required.

I already have the Innovativesoftnz, com fix applied, but my wireless dongle died (it's 3 years old). I just wanted to try wired for a bit. I couldn't get it to work.
