I don't have much faith in the EPA to do anything that has anything to do with facts.

maybe so, but the application is filed by Porsche so I would think they know the size of their gas tanks.

One would think so. Why is this thing such an item if Porsche supplied the information that their gas tanks did not change? This thing is like it came out of an 'Animal House' movie script.

My 22 S takes about 17.5-18 gal to fill up I when I'm at last bar on fuel gauge with low light just coming on (about 2 gal)
So it's a 19.8 gal tank for US.

For those who have responded above w/ real world experience, are you in the USA / Have USA market cars? Curiously none of these responses have a location in their profile.

I haven't measured the actual input from an empty tank because don't want to run out.

But I always get a 425 mile indicated range from a fill up. Except when in sport mode, then 395. Clever little computer, knows lead foot when it senses one.

As far as "prime time", we are there for EVs now for local driving if you can plug in and charge at home; not going to gas stations is heavenly, and having a "full tank" every morning when leaving home saves lots of time in one's daily schedule avoiding gas stations (not to mention the not needing oil changes and so much other crap that goes with ICEV maintenance). It's only for road trips where EVs are generally not ready for "prime time", but some parts of the US and Canada are already prepared for road-tripping EVs, provided that you stay along the main cross-country limited-access highways; give it another 3-4 years, and the public-charging infrastructure will be much more built out than it is now (governments and private companies are throwing huge amounts of money at doing this now). Having driven numerous Taycans now, I can say that the forthcoming Macan BEV will be better than any ICE Macan, by *far* in terms of pure driving enjoyment (public-charging infrastructure aside).
Yeah, unless you live in CA and pay $.40 plus a KWhr for power. And that is going up.

All to do about nothing. It's a mixup in the specs between capacity without reserve and total capacity including reserve. As a few have pointed out above. Why Porsche cannot get this straight is beyond me.

Exactly!!! Marketing issue.
-OR-
Perhaps there's some bottom-of-the-tank pump that should remained covered with the last few gallons of fuel for cooling?

Surely someone with a PIWIS (or a dealer who will do the work) can look up the gas tank part #s for the 2022 models and see what the tank size is and finally put this conversation to rest?

What more do you need, a gas receipt? Move on.
