2021 vs 2022 Macan GTS Order
#61
Just placed an order for a GTS with September build. Build sheet shows it as MY21.
Also remember the 2019 Macan came out around April of 2019. So I’m sure 2022 Macan may only be available to order in calendar 2022.

Not from the dealer I ended up ordering from. Another dealer with an allocation said I could not order 14 or 18 way seats with his specific allocation.
We shall see what happens, I’m in no rush and I rather get the car exactly go my spec (18-ways) vs. settling for 8-ways

Did you do porsche entry and drive or the race tex headliner? These are the options my dealer said porsche could do. They said for the headliner exclusive will not do it because of them having a shortage so they are saving them all for the cars that have that as standard. Then for the entry and drive they don't have enough chips for the seats apparently and are putting them all in the cayenne over the Macan.

I suppose in the sense of "misery loves company" I feel a bit better hearing that, as ours had the same slippage. Now supposed to ship out of Emden on 7/23... maybe our GTS's will be shipmates

Once I know for certain which ship my car is on, I will be anxious to track it across the ocean through https://www.vesselfinder.com !!!!

We're in New England so they are bringing it in through Rhode Island. Supposed to leave Emden on 7/23 and be in Rhode Island 8/13. I imagine the same ship will call at a number of East Coast ports.
The marine tracking apps are fun. It is a shame though that Porsche doesn't provide detailed tracking to buyers of these vehicles as they do for the Taycan and 911... and as other marques do for their buyers (and not just luxe brands... Mini does a great job through their app).

So looks like some of the 2022 facelift details dropped today. autocar. Looks like we will get a full reveal in July.
It looks like:
In the US, current base GTS is 72K and the Turbos is 84k. My guess is the 22' GTS (nee Turbo) will be just over/under 80k.
Hard to compare apples to apples at this point but for someone who has a 2021 GTS allocation for October delivery I'm curiously not feeling much fomo. Could be wrong though! Thoughts?
It looks like:
- 2021 GTS ~= 2022 Macan S + air suspension standard + new console as mentioned before + new bumpers.
- 2021 Turbo + Air Suspension ~= 2022 Macan GTS + new console as mentioned before + new bumpers.
- No 2022 Turbo. If I had a farm to bet on I am guessing the Turbo and the Turbo S nameplate are being reserved for the EV Macan.
- Base car gets a power bump but not engine change.
...price for the GTS will increase, but it allegedly won't be as high as the current Turbo..
