2021 vs 2022 Macan GTS Order
#46
Had past by the dealer 2 weeks ago to order my 2021 GTS and was told because of chip shortage I could only buy what they have. I started looking at the 2022 model and didn't like the console but like the new interior technology and rear bumper.
So I ordered a 2022 for December delivery with allot of options...... New colors to be announced but I choose chalk I am also thinking of upgrading the brakes.

Either way, how do you even order a 2022 now? Does your dealer have access to a 2022 configurator?

I have come to the decision that a Macan GTS will be the first new P-car. I'm excited about the customization but no the ordering/dealership process! If you're curious here is my rater boring but ideal spec.
As I have come to find out it seems that Porsche will possibly be updating the 2022 Macan to get the new central console + electronics upgrades (just like the 911 & Cayenne). I have mixed feelings about the new 2022 interior style:
- First off, piano black is a PITA to keep clean and some of the controls seem non-intuitive in the new gen systems. At first glance I much prefer the current-gen electronics system (I also own a 981 GT4).
+ However, knowing a little about the ins and outs of the computer hardware ecosystem I'll likely want to be on the latest hardware system if there's any hope in improvements to the software (outside of bug fixes).
? After owning a latest-gen Volvo suv, a good ACC-system with lane keep-assist is a must. Are my expectations realistic to expect the quality of the Tesla ACC (w/o Autopilot)? If not, is there a generational leap between cars with the latest gen ACC (taycan) vs. the current-gen Macan?
Lastly, when do you think I should start contacting a dealer regarding putting the order in? (2021 or 2022)
Thanks in advance!

So if you’re wanting a GTS, your likely choices are either now or in a few years.

Wait we can already order 2022 models now? My dealer recently told me that they're still expecting to receive new allocations for 2021 GTS in the upcoming weeks. Not sure how reliable this information is.
Either way, how do you even order a 2022 now? Does your dealer have access to a 2022 configurator?

GTS is an end-of-generation model. If it’s still available in 2022, I find it hard to believe it will share any of the upgrades being discussed in this thread. It’s just not how Porsche does it.

Sounds like the dealer just took your money without making any real promises.

I personally am not a fan of the all glass center stack. It strikes me as an opportunity for distracted driving. Analog controls FTW!

Many refer to the current-gen Macan as the “goldilocks” generation due to having an updated PCM in combo with the console switchgear.

Looking for more 2022 information on the Macan GTS.
Anyone receive an order slot. Are 2022 allocations available?

So just finished my test drive with the Cayenne just in case the Macan GTS 2022 that I ordered would not be made...... The sales person told me he herd from the top brass that the GTS will be made in 2022 and that the Turbo (Macan)is not .Maybe just maybe the GTS will be made with 2.9 but with the hp of the Turbo......

For the naysayers that say the GTS will not be built for MY22, I don't necessary agree. Remember, MY22 is not a complete refresh, it is another mid-cycle upgrade. I hope @vicslick is right about being able to order MY22 if you have December delivery. I have a September build and if people are saying production stops in June, that may be true? I'm debating myself whether to go '21 or '22.
There has been precedence where orders of one MY has been suddenly flipped to the next year. If anyone has any more clarity from dealers or SA, please let us know!

Seems like “information” is all over the place. We managed to get our turbo order in “under the wire” and our build complete date was actually *pulled in* four days from the original schedule!
5/19 schedule
