I had Android Auto installed in my 2017 Cayenne turbo by Ramond. It was very easy process. No USB to Ethernet cable needed. Just USB or SD card. I'm not gonna lie that I was quite disappointed that it was not wireless as I discovered later on but it was my fault because I probably didn't even read the website's description thoroughly. I ordered a wireless dongle, a data blocker and USB y splitter. They should arrive in 2 days. I hope wireless transition works well. Lots of people report that they have spotty connection issues with the dongle and complain that the dongle continues to be connected to their phone after the car shuts off. How do you guys deal with those issues?

Nope,my process is 100% warranty safe,as I dont touch the PCM software at all,just activation,hence why the USB to ethernet adapter is required.
We did many 2023/2024 cars and all was okay at the dealer.

Does anybody have any solution to the problem? My method didn't really work well. The ciga jack still keeps power for good 30-40 minutes after turning off the car. The phone constantly tries to connect to AA when the car is off during that time. It doesn't seem to be just bluetooth that I need to disconnect but wifi as well. Not sure if this is particular to my dongle but all other products seem to have similar connection method.

I use the AAWireless dongle. No issues with my Galaxy S23 trying to reconnect after car shuts off.

Looks like yours comes with an app that disconnects once the car shuts off. Good find!

Surely it is the USB port that shuts down power after the ignition has been turned off for a certain duration?

I was concerned about this when I first got a dongle for AA and so tested it by plugging in my phone, making a mental note of charge level and leaving the ignition switched off and the car locked for a couple of hours. Phone charge level did not increase, so I was satisfied that power had been shut down by the USB port. I discounted the notion that the phone (Samsung) was smart enough to know that it was plugged into a car which was not running.

BTW, after trying a few others (thank you Amazon), I am using the Ottocast dongle which has proved rock solid.

My observation is that the ciga jack and USB ports shut off after 30 ish minutes. Some from my research stated that the ciga jack shuts off power immediately but it was wrong. It definitely stays on for a while. I park my car in the garage, don't lock the car, go inside the house, and the phone keeps chiming to tell me that the AA is available/connected. The phone automatically connects to AA via BT and WiFi. Then I have no reception as the WiFi that it connects to is not the home WiFi but rather the dongle's WiFi. The chime keeps going for good 30 minutes. In another occasion, if I am on the phone as I step out of the car after turning off the engine and hitting the BT button on my phone to turn it off, it automatically connects to BT again. I can't hear any sound on the phone when that happens obviously because the car is off. I constantly have to turn off BT on my phone to hear the other party again. When I settle in one of the rooms, the chime keeps going. So I turn off BT on my phone and manually connect to home WiFi but the phone connects to the dongle again! The only way to force disconnection is to turn off BT and WiFi both on my phone. Then I can't use home WiFi. Not sure if this is this dongle's particular issue but most products I have looked at seem to have similar issue. I will try the other product he mentioned. I guess Ottobox also comes with application that force stops the connection when the car's off?

I got the one you bought and it works fantastic. Now it turns off automatically when the car is off. It's just that I have to launch AA on my phone when I hop in. Thank you.
