Hey guys, did a search on this but difficult to find a definitive answer. I’m looking at buying a used 2021 GTS and noticed there’s no drive mode dial on the steering wheel. Was this an option or did it come standard on the GTS? I think the steering wheel was changed at one point so wondering if maybe that’s why it’s missing.

I may be incorrect, but I thought the dial was introduced with 2022 models and requires sports chrono.

It's part of the Sport Chrono package which was and continues to be an option on the GTS. Definitely worth getting as you will want to use sport mode often and without that dial, you will have to look down at the center console to activate it which can be rather inconvenient under many driving situations.

I own a 2021 GTS, I had to option Sport Chrono to get it, it's a must have IMO.

Wish the default start mode was at least Sport+.

Need T-9 Design to make their drive mode save module for the newer generation.

I thought T9 is just for center console options, not for dials on the steering wheel. At least for my 991.2 module, it was just for center console buttons.

It was an option since 2019. You can add it afterwards with a fairly quick steering wheel swap or a retrofit of your existing wheel. I went with the former for the smaller and better looking (in my opinion) GT wheel. Its always nice to have a new steering wheel if your's has some wear.

They make a module for the IOSS+ steering wheel ***** (I had one on my 18 Panamera), but not yet for the the newer ***** w/o the LED lights. The module goes behind the airbag.

I suspect it is an emissions test issue. The testing is probably done in the default state at ignition turn on.
