Best Track Times in a GT4

My .02 after 6 sets of RE71R, 4 sets of cup 2, and 10 sets of NT01 across multiple cars:
RE71R>NT01>>Cup2
All have their positives and negatives, but for an all around tire driven to and from the track I would choose the RE71Rs every time.

I think NT01s and RE71Rs are probably very close in lap times but I'm getting more HCs out of the RE71Rs than I got in the NT01s so for me RE71Rs > NT01s.

Great feedback, next set will be RE-71R then...

Jacy, that was very entertaining! Looked as if you missed the apex of 12 by a mile and then went to throttle with all that steering angle required to make the turn being that far off apex

Which video are you talking about? There are so many mistakes, and so many videos.

They have always let you do that as long as you stayed in control - but it's a different track at that point, especially 3-5 and 19. Easily worth 2 seconds cutting those corners by straddling or completely crossing the gators like I saw a TON of people doing last weekend. We were snickering in the drivers meeting when one of the race teams asked what the "track limits" were that weekend.
Unless the orange gator pyramids are in effect... of which, I believe they have 3 heights.
Personally, I wish they would leave them out there installed...
My student asked how much he could cut the corners... and I had to explain that there are "DE" rules and "Racing" rules. For the sake of creating good driving habits, I instruct my students to try to utilize the more restrictive racing rules.

I've tried NT-01 on R and RE-71R on GT4 so no direct comparison but another thing I can add is that NT-01 has very loud oscillation noise while the BS is amazingly quiet. If you drive your car on street as well, I highly recommend RE-71R!!

Went to Chin HPDE at COTA this weekend. I knew there were some Rennlist guys but didn't have a chance to visit... Actually I went to ShankNBake trailer to chat without knowing why today (because the car looked fast and exhaust sound was good!!) but nobody was there at that moment...
Anyhow, I was hoping it would be still kind of cool temp but it was around 75F and probably humid too due to storm approaching. I wasn't able to run the 1st session due to a check ride for a first time instructor. I was able to make only one clean lap overall and it was 2m28.69. The configuration was pretty much same when I ran at TWS but I did alignment this time (it was as is last time). Then it turned out actually the rear was toe-out!! I guess that's why the car was neutral :P The car was felt tight at exit this time. The overall configurations are:
Stock engine, suspension (ARB: mid, mid), OE size RE-71R, DSC Sport V2 controller
Alignment: F: 1.8 deg camber, 0 toe, R: 1.5 deg camber, 5minutes toe-in
I've run 29.7 on a stock Cayman R on Z214 when the condition was perfect so expecting a few seconds quicker lap time even if the tires were street radial but it didn't happen...
Unfortunately, that run wasn't recorded so I've attached RS2Analysis screen capture.
I will install Fabspeed GT450 after this (finally John!) so this will be my last "stock" lap time

Here is a video I just received from my client Tim running our GT450 package over in the Australia Tarmac Rally Championship

Ran a 1:54.83 this weekend at Buttonwillow on RE-71Rs...I'll post up the fast lap video later on this week.

Ok, I'll play. Did a 1:55.10 at Oregon Raceway Park on 2017-04-09 counter-clockwise. Might be my favorite track with all the elevation changes and blind corners. Cup 2s, 33 psi front, 30 rear, stock except rear toe links for more camber. Running about -2.4 in front, -2.0 in back.
