In my simplistic view of the world I hardly doubt there will be a " significant " drop in prices on the GT4's that are out there.

I'm currently in the market for a GT4 and I'm willing to pay slightly above MSRP for the right car. I plan to get a GT4 and drive it and enjoy it - if the prices go down I won't be to worried as I will have enjoyed what I deem to be a special car - that's the price you pay.

The next GT4 will be better, faster, and more expensive than the first. Values for the old GT4 will go down. That's cars.

I hope this doesn't turn into the GT3 forum.....

Yeah I figure that's the reality of it. I am guessing it will be the same scenario where it will be impossible to get the new version when it come out. I found it very interesting they released the GT4 at the end of life cycle of the 981. I wasn't sure if that's something Porsche normally does.

yeah, totally. The 718 GTS hasn't even been announced yet so probably another 12 months before the next GT4 announced, more for actual deliveries. You could be on the list for the next one and still have 2 years to drive a 981 GT4 if you bought one now.....

I think values will hold, because I think the next GT4 will increase in price substantially... not just incrementally. Especially with a substantial increase in performance.

The higher pricing and performance of the new GT3 makes room for that.

I am in the fence about getting the current one. We would likely be paying above msrp for a car that already one year old. I more concerned about buying a car that will drop in value even more because we would be paying over Msrp in addition to the normal depreciation of a one year old car

Buy it and enjoy it. If it does end up dropping in price it will be far less depreciation then almost any other car on the market. Couple thousand dollars to own a 100k car for a couple years is amazing.

I think this would be like when the GTR came to the states it was like 77K for the car. After realizing they undersold the car, people who had the car still can sell their car easily 70k with miles b/c of the substanial increase in price of the GTR now.

Hate to sell it, but my GT4 is for sale to add to your spresdsheet. Link to ad in classifieds is below.

Got an allocation for one of fifty new Shelby FP350S race cars to be built, so GT4 will open up a spot for it.
