Thanks, it looks like you have a current gen SJ nicely setup so probably not a huge reason to upgrade. The current Enduro and SJ share a lot of DNA. You have to ask yourself if you really want/need an Enduro. It is heavier, slacker, softer... But it sure comes alive when you point it downhill! It is probably a little too much bike for me and my local conditions but with the extra travel and slacker head angle I really like the confidence it inspires on sketchy terrain like rock gardens and steep rollers. I am coming from a '15 E29 S-Works so I already knew I liked what the Enduro offers. You can't go wrong with either weapon however!

Mooty I'm not especially young, 32 and fractured my neck and back in 2014 summer so I feel older. Thankfully I'm in good shape and still flexible so I'm very comfortable low as can be. Arione 00...Arione is only saddle that needs to exist.

Sonorous, have you used any 27+ wheels yet? If not you should sometime. The lower bb feels pretty cool and the stopping power is awesome.
VLJ, do you mtb at all or just road? If mtb next time I am at SOMO I will let you know.
Mooty, do you go to sea otter?

The ability to run a plus setup is one of the big benefits of the '17. I have not yet, but very excited to try it. I plan to grab a loaner set from my LBS and test it out but I suspect I will buy a full wheel set and tires to swap at will. I think the traction will be a huge benefit especially in the winter. It seems like a good compromise vs. going with a fat bike for NY metro conditions.

LMFAO....we need a new thread.
Someone made a comment about Austin being flat. Every fall we have a 100 mile ride called "The Das Hugel" Total ascent runs from 10,000 ft to 13,000 ft depending on the route. The route is so compact...many climbs are close to 20%
Come on to Austin!

we have a few rides in the driftless area here in wisconsin where you can get in 10,000 feet or more of climbing in 100 miles. There are also longer distances with more climbing feet. No long hills just short and steep ones. Rare flats. Seems like after a while you are either going up or down.

My first bike was a BSA 3 speed (1953), the first in the neighborhood that wasn't a Schwin. Current ride is a Cannondale (USA built) Road Warrior (Hybrid). My usual ride is an out and back 10 mile run over rolling terrain. I'm 72.
