Reading this entire thread I didn't see where any changes or updates were made.
Does anyone know for sure? Hasn't one or two of the replaced transmissions also had the issue?
As they are so secretive, I doubt we will know if any changes or updates were made.
The early replacements were the same but not the newer batch ones. New one have the rectified 3rd gear welds.

What is your build date? I didn't think anyone was safe. I have read cars as early as July 2015 builds have gone all the way through to August 16, and even some manual 718 Ss have gone.

What James said. The original replacements were the same box, then they realized there was a problem and there is a new part number for new boxes. No one with a new part no. box has had a failure yet.

I thought it was only 2016 builds that were affected but after having a look at this spread sheet, there's a Dec 2015 and Oct 2015 build.

My build is Oct 2015 and 11,500km, I guess I'm not pushing hard enough..
I'll be extending the warranty by 2yrs before March next year.

I wonder what happens to the ones that run out of Warranty ?

I would be very surprised if Porsche didn't make good on them even after warranty expiration. But we'll see.

I too have an Oct 2015 build. Currently at 21,000 miles and no problems.

That's good to know, I'm only at a third of your miles traveled. I'm obviously not driving it enough.

Maybe we need a concerned owners group like the 991.1 engine failure people did. They got Porsche to cover the engine for 10 years!
This issue seems to affect a higher percentage of cars than the GT3 engine fiasco!

I’m told a blue GT4 was at my dealer today for 3rd gear. Zero track time.
Outside Pittsburgh PA.

Perhaps it was you?

Hi Alan,

The blue one you saw at POV was mine...and, yes, it was brought in due to the 3rd gear going out this past weekend.

11,500 miles...I've sent my information in for the "database". However, it does not appear to have been updated yet.

Arizona, I know you just picked it up but on the bright side you are good to go on the transmission front. POV will do a good job.
