Nah, if that were the case why would my Porsche dealer send a driver out to motor the car back to the shop? Are you worried you're gonna damage the transmission? It's being replaced !!!

Depending on how spirited the car has been driven, you might consider a clutch replacement whilst everything is unbolted. I did and essentially saved the cost of labor.

There were real stories here on RL that spoke about serious issues, starting with the tranny but not ending there.

Quick update - Kings Porsche in Cincinnati took care of me - though took a little while to get the transmission. All covered under warranty. I put in a new clutch as no labor charge while car apart. Couldn't be happier with the service and support!

Is it possible that a car who had the recall done but not show up on carfax ?

Anything is possible. CarFax is far from infallible. It's only as good as the data it's provided.
