Best Track Times in a GT4
#1396
I went with PCA Zone 2 for 3 days. I was shot the third day. I believe I have an easy second or maybe two with more throttle/later braking at end of front and back straights. Probably 1 in uphill esses. Getting better at holding entry speed up to the top. That 2:09 lap was the best oak tree turn I've ever made. Vmin was 45 mph! There's more to be had for me coming out of hog pen as well. Not sure I see 2:02 yet, but maybe 2:05 on a great lap!

Personal best at Oregon Raceway Park CCW (counter clockwise) last weekend - 1:51.41.
The usual bits for alignment - camber plates, toe links, etc.
Pirelli DH takeoffs on 19" Forgeline wheels
Cargraphics headers, plenum, throttle body, tune from BGB
Carbon canards and gurney flap from Dundon
Ferodo DS 1.11 pads

Visited Lime Rock for the second time (first time this year), and was able to drop 4 seconds and get down to a 1:01.13 on the first day. Mods: track alignment, RE-71R's. Running in the Blue/White run group with NNJR, which was very crowded. This was my only clean lap of the day, and a pass coming out of right-hander lost a little time without full track-out. Also missed the turn on west bend so had to take a little off with the recovery. Looking forward to cracking the mythical 1 minute barrier!
On the second day, tried out Hoosier R7's for the first time, and got down to 1:00.33. Still getting to know the tires, but man do they have grip. Tons of time left, even on such a small track.

I run a GT4 with RE71s, too, in the same run group (budding Black driver but I'm OK where I am) and I'd say you had some very smooth driving. I am sure pros will have more to say, but nice work! LRP is small but fun.

Maybe my last day in 981 GT4 around Laguna Seca
1:38.17
Alignment bits
Forgeline 19 + RE71R 265/295
BMC Filter
Sway bar settings: Medium / Hard
There was more time in the car I think but my (2nd) header cracked later in the session. My (2nd) transmission is also failing
Hope to get the car patched up and sold in time to order a 718 GT4, but we'll see. I shouldn't have waited so long to try 265 front tires they are a big improvement IMO. Will do a few days back home in the NW on this setup and see how it goes.

What group (color) were you running in? Was it crowded? Are you running an external GPS receiver, or just the 1hz phone GPS?

Personal best at Area 27 in Oliver, BC - 2:19.28. I have no idea if this is a decent time or not, but I figured I'd at least post it to give others a reference point. First time at Area 27, and if you ever have an opportunity to drive this track, you should - it's an absolute gem.
