@idyfohu, Heh, I'm actually from Montana. There are a half dozen of us Montanans that make the trek down to UMC a couple times a year. I don't do NASA events, but there's no particular reason why not.

Make a reminder for yourself to check the IRPCA schedule after the first of the year for next year. They are a great club, lots of nice people, and as drivers everybody is well behaved and respectful. I highly recommend attending when they do either the outer config or full - I just think they are more fun than either the east or west config.

Ahhh, awesome! I know there's a few fellow GT4 owners in Utah, was hoping you were one of them, but glad to know you utilize UMC. Really hoping with the new ownership they revitalize it and we get back some of the premier races we once had! I've heard both outer and full are awesome layouts. There's a NASA event on 10/5 and they're running both outer and full, so I'll likely plan on that (and then 10/06 they're running East and West tracks).

I was considering signing up for the IRPCA events last weekend, but just couldn't make it work unfortunately, but definitely plan on joining in the future. We'll definitely have to meet up and the next IRPCA event we both attend!

I realize this thread has fallen into disuse, but wasn't sure where else to post this.

I had fun at a DE at Summit Point, WV this past weekend, and got a new personal best: 1:19.40. This is more than 6/10ths of a second better than my previous best. Plus, the weather wasn't great (cloudy, mid-60's and sprinkling a bit), so there's probably a little more there if I can get my act together. The car is same as before, RE-71R tires on Forgeline GS1R wheels, PFC11 pads, TPC offset toe links and DSC box. Otherwise, it's basically stock.

Here's a link to the video:

I do want to add that the VBox HD2 is a huge improvement over the old iPhone-in-the-window-with-HLT, both in terms of data and in video quality.

There was more time in the car I think but my (2nd) header cracked later in the session. My (2nd) transmission is also failing

Hope to get the car patched up and sold in time to order a 718 GT4, but we'll see. I shouldn't have waited so long to try 265 front tires they are a big improvement IMO. Will do a few days back home in the NW on this setup and see how it goes.
Looks like a AIM Smarty, did you splice into the CAN system to get the brake pressure and throttle position? I was not able to get this information from my 991.2.

Got my GT4 out to VIR for first time. This was morning session on the only day I was there. Later on I broke something in the header area and had an exhaust leak.
2:04.7 @VIR
Video:
Weather was perfect, just need to clean up my driving next time I'm there all over the track. Hogpin might be higher priority. Maybe even a few more mph available in the Esses.

Tires: 20" RE71R's
mods: DSC sport, no other mods.

t.
Also could not stay flat up the esses. but, it seems possible.. but seems really scary. Maybe if had a cage it could be experimented with a bit more. The 1st right is pretty "jumpy" though and you need enough of it. Not recommended for most.
I think you mean T9 (not T10) but my slowest speed through T9 was 113. If I go faster like in the 120+ range, I track out too wide for T10 and it's not worth it. I think the fastest way may be to go just a little faster through T9 than I'm going, but use even more of the right rumble without going too far left on exit.

I was there for a second time last fall, and on the first day I had a near incident going up the esses that messed with my head. Hit one corner wrong, car stepped out 45 degrees, no nannies....it was "fun". I could not build back up to it, despite trying really hard. We're going back again this fall so I better get that cougar in the car and start training up.

Esses....where did the ***** go?

Same with the braking into the rollercoaster....
