back to Forgelines - any preference on the "colors" available? I am thinking Transparent Smoke. But a riskier choice is Transparent GOLD or Transparent RED. Thoughts? My car when it arrives in early April is JBM. I also love the MATTE transparent red and gold. I know, a bit blingy, but for sweet track wheels in 19 . . . maybe? opinions please.
Race Gold - Satin
Race Gold - Gloss
Matte Gold (not race gold)
Transparent Gold - Gloss (looks like anodised and brushed)
Transparent Gold - Matte (looks like anodised and brushed)
Bronze- Satin

Okay, I should GO BIG as I look at these golds. The Transparent Matte Gold looks awfully good. Very hard to choose, maybe I should get pricing on the various colors as that good help make the decision.

transparent matte BRONZE might be killer too, if there is such a color

The transparent colors add 150 per wheel. The standard colors are "free".

Update on the setup.
R7s will last about 3 days, possibly 4 days if I can get the fronts to more evenly wear.
Pressures: Well, even though the R7 product manager said to run high pressures, the tires work much better (I know others have said the same...) with lower pressures. I was keeping them under 40psi on-track-hot, and they worked better than letting them get above 40.
Alignment: I am handing the car over to soulspeed this week to add another -0.5 degrees on the front using camber plates. The rear could use another -0.25-0.5, but since they are wear much more slowly that the fronts and I'm happy with the feel and grip, I probably will not bother.
My thoughts on why camber plates are the way to go with this wide front setup to achieve some of the negative camber.

I run R7's on my 987 between 32 - 34psi hot. This is well below what Hoosier recommends. But this is what most of us with 987 track/race cars are doing and the results have been excellent. I suggest you shoot for pressures not to exceed 35psi hot and see for yourself. Lower may be better.

I agree that lower pressures seemed better for me as well. I think I went down to 36 hot but may try lower next event. My cold pressures will be very low but I'll give 32F/34R a try next time.
