Very cool. I'm assuming you've done your research and this is the best lightweight battery option you've found right? any major pros and cons you've learned about while researching these batteries?

It's one of the few plug-and-play units that will fit in Pcars. Braille is a stand-up brand that I've had a lot of success with. It was in my .2RS for about a year with no issues, even sitting in my garage for weeks at a time. It has electronics that will prevent it from completely discharging and damaging the battery.

You should put an ad on craiglist for horse jockeys who are also professional racecar drivers if you really want your car to be as light and fast as possible

Add treadmill work on top of that and you will be even lighter!

Is it better/lighter than the OEM lightweight battery option from Porsche?

It's lighter, but less capacity. And half the price.

And it's a battery, so it's a consumable.

I weigh 170lbs. I put one foot into the trunk, and started to step in. That was followed by stomach sickening crunch like plywood cracking.

Has anyone tried the LiteBlox? They have one in full carbon fiber with a matching 991/981 bracket. 5lbs and enough juice. Apparently they are looking to start next year in the US.

FWIW I picked up a Voltphreaks for my 964, but you would need to fabricate a mount for it. It weights 5lbs, but doesn't have the juice of the braille. Feedback on them has been very good here, look forward to getting it. I'll use a rennline mount which will add about 1lb to it. Candidly if you're looking to drop weight on a car, a light battery is one of the cheapest ways to drop 30-40lbs on a porsche after you've started taking stuff off.

Any updates on how the Braille i48CE is doing? Taking a serious look at this battery as it's a direct drop-in replacement. The LiteBlox looks interesting and got some good feedback from Europe. The problem is getting it.
