I was going to go, but I guess it sold out in the first few minutes of tickets being available :/

Yeah, found out about it yesterday and almost posted here, but there were already 3000 people interested and 800 saying they were going, so I knew tickets would be a brawl as it was. And I was right -- I was there right at 10AM when the link was posted but tickets sold out in less than 1 minute. At least this has opened CotA's eyes to the interest in this, so hopefully this becomes a fixture. They were caught completely off-guard with the response, in fact they hadn't even planned to do a pre-sale for tickets until yesterday afternoon when they realized that if they didn't they could have a ridiculous number of people show up and only tickets for a fraction of them. Anyhow, they're running the National layout (using a bypass that runs from T6 to the tail end of the back straight) and running clockwise in order to maximize the impact of T1. I really wanted to go, but I'm hopeful that there will be many more chances later.

They need a dedicated kart track there.

I almost always do share the wealth, but the numbers were already completely insane on this one even by the time I got there.

haha no worries. I just wanted an excuse to use the picture

Do you think it's a lost cause to just show up and hope for the best?

Yes. I mean maybe if someone is sick and somehow can't unload their tickets, but I personally wouldn't be willing to wait out there in those temperatures for hours on the off chance I'll get a shot.

Going to MSR Cresson Friday and Sat. They are running the 3.1 Friday and the 1.7 CCW on Saturday. I will likely be driving the formula mazda both days as I have a coach on Friday, but plan to take the GT4 out for a session or 2 on Saturday. Hope to see or meet some new people there this weekend.

Agreed. There have been rumors of creating a dedicated kart area in the northwest corner of the land facility. It comes and goes...

I was there yesterday and did a couple sessions and overall it was good to shake some of the rust off, but I found that the karts are pretty inconsistent across the range in regards to speed and handling. Also, it was kind of a sh&t show with people waiting on the next session literally standing in the grid to ensure they could grab the best karts before the karts from previous session were even finished. The previous session karts would have to try to avoid them coming into the pits waiting like vultures.

But I still think it's good practice and will probably go couple times a month

who are you all using for PPF in Ausin or Houston? I'd like to get my a-pillars and windshild/roof line covered and I am in both cities frequently.

Too many rocks on the road in Midland!
