LWB delayed (again)
And for GT4, you cannot select LWBs in Porsche Germany Configurator anymore.
There is only the old foldable bucket seat available (from 987/997 generation).
Funny - you can try to select the Clubsport package and it gives an error. And it doesnt accept the foldable buckets for Clubsport. They have the harness openings although.

More of an issue of spending time waiting and spending a pretty hefty chunk of change and being told you can't even have what you want. Sorry. Whether or not the seats make or break the car, I refuse to spend money on a car and not have it exactly as I want. Will always feel like I am missing something and anytime I saw any porsche with lwb would just **** me off.
If not getting buckets aren't a deal breaker for you then great and hope you enjoy the car in anyway you got it. Sitting here with a car with lwb and telling owners to just accept what's being offered is pretty annoying and dickish. If I cared about being "comfortable" this would not be the car I am trying to get my hands on.

If you a hardcore track rat you probably would pass on the LWB as they are not the best for track duty. Especially if the delay is risking getting a GT4.
To be honest the LWBs appeal to people who want a "race" look for DD and may hit a DE once or twice a year.
Needless to say I can see the point of his post. Oh and I don't have LWBs and am okay with that
. I already have a dedicated track car and if need be will swap in lighter and better fitting Recaros (or numerous other options).

I tell you what... there sure is a big riff about some uncomfortable hard to get in and out of useless LWBS. I cannot recall so much being discussed about a seat option.
IMO they are a perfect fit between track and street use. The LWBS will bring more $$$ in the secondary market one day as well.

So what you are saying is LWBS appeal to 90% of buyers?

My main point are...
1.) Seats don't make a car and if you pass on a GT4 allocation because of a lack of LWBs... Well I won't finish that sentence.
2.) LWBs are not the best track seat. So any hardcore track guy/gal would most likely not care. Well I take that back. If you are on the larger size then LWBs may be sufficient for at least holding you in place
.3.) If you have them and you like them, congrats!
4.) If you passed on them and you are happy, congrats!
5.) If you have an allocation but can't get them just be happy you have allocation. Try and keep the whining and temper tantrums to a minimum
.
^^^^^ The percentage of LWBS in the database was flawed at the beginning because the LWBS was not readily available. It has since seen a huge up tick. I believe a lot of people settled for the sofas but would of rather had the LWBS... you cannot fault them for that. the other thing we are missing is cars in other countries. What % are they getting LWBS?

Well said, it's an amazing car and to pass for seats would be a shame. More so if your true intention is to track and plenty of seats available that will fit better. If you feel the seats complete the car, that's your opinion, but we're going to agree to disagree on that one. They're f-ing seats people. (sorry, Pirates losing #rant off, lol)
Seats may be important to some people. For me if I am going to spend 100k on a car, I want it exactly how I spec it. The bucket seats complete the overall interior look for me. It isn't like the GT4 is a perfect car either, if it had some shorter gear ratios I could probably overlook the seats. My car is supposed to be in production right now with LWB seats, if for some reason I cannot get them someone can take my car on delivery.
Why do I get the feeling that so many (non/prospective) owners who post in here against LWBs because
1) they couldn't get them
2) the "boss" said NO
3) they want to DD and have luxury
4) flip

Thanks for actually saying it! The LWBs are a design choice. They're not race seats, and they're not fitted seats. They look really cool. People want them because they look really cool. And I get that. I completely get that.
I also think people deserve to get exactly what they want when they order a car. If it's an option, everyone should be able to order it. Not having a 3rd party supplier situation sorted should not become a customer's problem.
I'm not crazy-for or crazy-against LWBs. Or any other option for this car. I'm crazy about the car itself. I can't find a way to get crazy excited about fake race seats. Just can't.
Wanting to pass on a car for the seat, though, is a touch bewildering. Not to say it's wrong, but I don't understand it. A make-or-break design choice?
Are we buying this car for design aesthetics or for what it inherently is as a product? Shouldn't it be the latter; or both?
I applaud anyone who wants to pass on their order if they don't get LWBs. I'm sure dealers will be able to pass those cars onto people who will be delighted with the overall product.

1. Not many will admit it!
2. See answer in 1.
3. See answer in 2.
4. See answer in 3.
5. I agree...If LWBS would have been available from the jump 80% of GT4s would have them. I am right on this so there is no since in arguing.
The internet is mine for now
