Did you end up running 295/30/19s and 235/35/19. So looking at 265/35/19?

I saw you ran the the Trofeo Rs and the R888Rs, which did you prefer?

Sorry for all the questions, I am new to competitive racing, done a few track days but nothing like this.
Since you're into it, you'll get to try all the tyres over time and make your own mind up. Ross will tell you who offers work.. 19's are no problem. Trofeo R's work best for me.

Thanks mate. He got back to me last night. I wanted the SF10s, but they only come in 8.5in and 11in. I am checking if the SF06s or SF08s come in a 19x9 for the front, if not ill just got with the 19x8.5 for the front with a 235/35 and 19x11 with either a 295/30 or 305/30 for the rear.

Interesting to read about Koya wheels. Hadn't heard of them before and am now chatting to them about options for the Turbo (not a GT4 owner but following this thread out of interest). Generally resistant to the idea of running cast wheels, especially on track, but if they're proven and are lighter than stock then it's worth a look.

Have been quoted 11kg's for the SF10 19x11" wheel, which if true is lighter than the OEM forged Turbo wheel by 1.7kg.

These wheels are part forged as per attached intriguing clip. So barrels are fully forged. My 19*11 weighed in at exactly 10kg.

I have heard good things about Koya from a few people and they tend to hold up well on the track.

I am about to pull the trigger on the SF10s in 19x11 for rear and 19x8.5 for front.

Just trying to decide on a colour. I have a white GT4, and since these will be track wheels, and will barely see the street I am thinking going something different, my options at the moment are gloss white, red, bronze or a standard polished or titanium.

Thanks for that validation on weight and the video link. Interesting for sure. The cast wheel failures I've seen have always been the spokes cracking, but it seems that there's a lot of people using them on the track and can't find any history of them failing online.

Go for something a little different. Blue looks great against white. Not a Porsche, or Koya SF10's (HRE P101, which I'm sure they're based on).

Since HRE's were briefly brought up I'd like to mention that their R101 Lightweights were engineered to be used specifically for track duties and they are unrivaled in durability. FULLY forged from T6 Aerospace-grade aluminum, they come in at 7.25 kg for the fronts and 8.79 kgs for the rears respectively. And oh yea, that's the weight on their 20" R101 LW's, not even the 19"

This is a mockup of my car with some decals I have on order and the wheels I am getting in the colours I have considered. I have made up my mind on colour but would be interesting to see peoples opinions.

White

Blue

Red

Bronze

Anthracite/Gunmetal

^^^^ I'm partial to the silver/polished wheels, but I must say that the bronze and gray (bottom two) are appealing as well.

Thanks. They are great looking and an amazingly low weight. How much is a set for the GT4 in 9"F and 11"R?

Last I checked the R101s were about USD$11k, before shipping and taxes etc.. Would love to know if that has changed.

Ouch !!
That converts to $13800AUD and that's not including freight or taxes.

With AUD at almost USD 0.80 now might be the time to buy though for those interested!

Anything over $5-6k delivered isn't worth it for me. Buy Koya wheels for $2k delivered. They weigh right on 10kgs for the rears and less for the front. So about 1kg per wheel more than the R101s.

For that cost difference i can break 6 sets of Koya wheels before it has cost me as much as the HREs. The amount of track time I do, I can't see myself going through that many before I change cars. Plus I have heard great things about Koya wheels and know a few people who run them on different cars, some street, some track and noone has bend or cracked one yet.

Plus the Koya SF10 is the same design as the R101.

Btw, I have decided to go a Gloss Red that closely matches the Martini Red. So red wheels it is. Should look much better than the photoshop I did, that looks dull and almost pinkish.
