Given you have not taken delivery they can still sell as new. They might make you eat some of your deposit but setting it up as a trade means you have pay stamp duty and luxury car tax - there is no way you can get close to whole this way.

It doesn't work like that. They have offered $40k less than my contract price.

Mine is the same look as this except it has Carbon folding buckets, PCCB, no rear wiper and no GTS exterior pack (painted black bits).

Congrats on the build completion. Which Porsche centre did you go through.
Mine is through Porsche Melbourne and build date 12th of May, waiting for shipping. Expecting a delivery date confirmation any day now.

Thanks mate, Congrats on your build completion too!

I went through Porsche Brighton. I expect my car will be shipped in the next couple of weeks, and then the next part of the waiting game

Do you guys know how to track your shipping online off your commission number? I am doing that on my GTS at present which lands in Melbourne on Monday.

No I did not know that, how would I get the commission number, is it in the contracts? I'm guessing tracking will be active once its on the ship, is that correct?

Jim, once they give you the VIN number you will be able to track it via the shipping lines track and trace system.

The commission number is on your contract.

If you don't have it ask your dealer. Once you have this you can track your shipment before you even get your VIN.

I forgot to add the tracking is active from the time it is booked on the boat. In my case it was booked about one week prior to loading.

I would ring your dealer and ask for the commission number. Quite often they don't have it when you've signed the contract on day 0, only if you've modified your contract with a change in options say and they give you a new copy once your allocation is confirmed.

To track it, go to:

https://att.2wglobal.com/gstattweb/o...uickSearchPage

Type in your commission number in to the "Customer Reference Number", or if you do happen to already have your VIN, type that in to the "Cargo ID" and then search.

It will come up with all your shipping details.

If you want to nose around, copy your "Bill of Lading" as shown, go back and do a new search just on that number. It will show how many Porsche's are in that shipment to the port of discharge your car is going to.

Now that you know the boat, go to: http://www.marinetraffic.com/ and sign up to become a member and buy the 1 month service for satellite tracking which is about $15.00 and allocate that service to the vessel your car is booked on. But only do this once loaded or you might run out of time before it gets here.

You can track it without the satellite payment, but that is a delayed service and only when the vessel gets close to the shore.

It is a slow process but somewhat perversely enjoyable if you like your detail.
The boat departs Germany and goes to Belgium, UK, Spain, 3 stops in South Africa, Fremantle, Melbourne, Port Kembla and lastly Brisbane.

It takes 5 weeks to get to Melbourne.

Post back how you go.
