I had to get new numberplates moving down to Tasmania. My 18 months old daughter always says brm brm when she sees my car, so I went for the following:

It seemed suited to the track - lots of second and third gear corners. I was down there for a test day in a formula ford and only got the GT4 on for the last session at the end of the day when everyone else cleared out. Car performed great but felt like a Cadillac after 80+ laps in the formula ford!

I noticed that the rear of the car was hopping / skipping in some of the higher speed corners. I put it down to either high tire pressure (didn't get a chance to adjust it down) or the traction control which I didn't switch off as it was the first time I tracked the car.

I got about 5000kms.

Actually the car is in storage for a week now. This is because Im not tracking it until I can "fix" it and get 18" stickies on. With the OEM tyres, for me, the car is just too slow and not competitive (like to run against Open or GT class).

My lightly modded Cayman S is a lot faster in the corners and its off to the country today for the next sprint event at the track on Sat.

GAZZ - fwiw - Mark tested a set of the Pirelli Trofeo R's a couple of weeks ago at Phillip Island.

We estimate them to be 2s / lap faster than either the Dunlop or Michelin's at that track. It's what I have ordered now. Prices for them were nearly half what we were quoted for the OEM's too.

Still not quite as good as a full R Comp - but it brings the speed of the cars up to a pretty high level.

Had considered that, but some are saying Trofeo Rs' are slow than Dunlops.
Anyway the Cayman S is running A050 SOFT. So compared to that, all the above is way slower.
Sure, I burn the A050s... its not cheap to beat the GT3s and stripped race cars with the lowly Cayman S, ha ha.

Interesting your S is faster in the corners than the GT4. What needs fixing on the GT4?
