Once in a lifetime experience. Thanks for sharing, Matt. Did "Andy" happen to tell you how many GT4s they plan to produce in the current generation? I'm wondering if it's more than the 2,500 worldwide (~1,200 US) that he mentioned at the car's launch in February.

Why would Porsche announce a turbo GT4 so soon? The turbo 981s are not even out yet. Sounds like wishful thinking to preserve the specialness of your manual only GT4s. More likely there will simply be a PDK option if I'm reading between the lines right. But let's see in 3 days.

To be truthful, I did not ask the very important question of how many more they would build. I should have. So, I can not shed any more light on that subject.

I think they will offer a turbo charged, smaller engine PDK as an option
How else would they keep all things equal and you know Porsche loves to keep the pecking order in cue

This is all conjecture on my part....
AP did said that N/A's will say apart of the GT program, for a long time to come. (paraphrasing here) So I don't think they will go away and therefore make the GT4 any more special than any other GT car... ??

You blew it
That was the million dollar question !!
I guess we will have to wait a few more months to find out

Thank you matt! That's a downer about the gt4rs. I guess it may be time to scratch the names off the waitlist. Too bad as I was really really looking forward to it. To the poster who said a while back he heard from a reliable source the gt4rs is a go, anything to add? I guess we heard it from the horses mouth this time though.

Could Porsche be reviving the Cayman R with a PDK option? There doesn't seem to be a ton of room between the GTS and GT4 in price, but maybe it will just be a Boxster Spyder with a hardtop and a PDK? At least we won't have to wait too long to find out. Whatever it is, I for one won't have any regrets about my build since MT was a selling point for me, even if the gears prove long to my taste.

No interest from me in a PDK GT4. The only must have requirements I had on my list were 6 speed manual and LWB. If both weren't available I would not have bought my GT4.

If they are going to use PDK in the GT4 "Cup" car (most likey to be the GT4R offically), they might just need to build a GT4 PDK street car....

awesome.
PDK would be great. It would be almost as fast as the Gt3, would be a superb track weapon....
unfortunately, the greatest manual has already been made. 997.2 4.0 RS
imo, a GT4 cup with PDK makes the most sense and sets the car up nicely for a gen 2 Gt4 with PDK.
