True GT4 weight and suspension info.
Seeing that I've owned my GT4 for almost 48 hours I thought it would be time to start taking it apart. First thing is I weighed it, came in @ 3083 my 15 CS PASM was 3048 w/ 14ways & ST 20s, my 15 CS X73 W/M seats& C20s was 3028. All were MTs.
The wheels are heavy R 55lb F 46, C20s 50&43, ST20s 54&44.
The Suspension is really well done. Both the F&R control arms are split. The whole rear is much more substantial. Better brake ducking but not as good as the gt3 that has a separate duct for the caliper.
Overall well done. Carl

Did you hold in your stomach when you weighed each? At least 7lbs for me.

Carl, did any of the cars have LWB seats? I'm probably going to throw an aftermarket lithium battery in my GT4.

Well it is about time you got to it!
Thanks for the information - weight is very interesting - guessing mine with 18 way couch's and lots of options will be at least 100 lb's heavier. Good to have a baseline weight to work with.
My guess is to get under 3k with 1/2 tank you will need LWB, Radio and AC delete!

I'll bet the LWB are less than 15lbs lighter than the standard manual sport plus. Remember they still have air bags. i don't think theres any GT4 spec inc PCCB & LWB thats going to cut 83lbs off the car. carl

No the 14 had 14way power, the 15 had manual sport plus and the lighter C20s. The wheels were 14 lbs lighter than the sport techno 20s on the 14 so the seats only made a 6lb difference. 14CS w/14ways and sport technos=3048..15CS manual sport plus and lighter wheels 3028lbs,only 20lb less. When i ordered it i thought for sure it would be less than3000 lbs..

You'll have to excuse my ignorance, but I don't think I understand many of these numbers and letters. Can you break this down for me a little more? Is this saying the rear wheels are 55 lbs each, and the front wheels are 46 lbs each? If so, is that including the tire, or just the rims?

The sport technos are very heavy because they are cast and 8.5 & 10" wide.
The carrera 20s are flow formed and 8&9.5 wide and the lightest factory 20s.. The GT4 wheels are also flow formed and are 8.5&11" wide plus wider tires 245 &295s. carl

I'm trying to connect the dots to the factory listed weight to see how close they come. Can you list you car's options?
Small fuel tank?
Radio / AC delete?
The factory says they quote weights per DIN in the lightest possible spec, so all of the above plus buckets, pccb, etc, fluids near full, no options that add weight. I'm curious to see if they are accurate or light this time.
