The factory says they quote weights per DIN in the lightest possible spec, so all of the above plus buckets, pccb, etc, fluids near full, no options that add weight. I'm curious to see if they are accurate or light this time.
My car was weighed with 1/2 tank=8 gal even took out the books from the glove box ! Steel brakes and the manual sport seats=3083.0 LBS..
There's no way in hell you are going to get the car under 3000lbs unless you go nuts . No Ac or sound system plexiglass windows stripped interior small battery lighter wheels ect. I've been through the weight loss drill with Lotus's. The work/cost/reward ratio isn't good. Not to mention you take the pipe on resale! carl

ac/radio delete / lithium battery and PCCB do take out near 110lbs...... which would take it under 3,000 lb

when i had my boxster spyder
i had pccb/ac delete with sound plus CDR and came in at the 1275kg din weight once I ditched the roof with a full tank of gas.

Default Alignment Check

Carl,

That outer ball joint nut doesn't seem to have any threads protruding from it. Was it in partial disassembly already?

Will you be checking/setting your alignment shortly? What method do you use?

What are the sway bar settings that can reduce under steer for GT4

Thanks,

Rob

Carl, I just weighed my GT4 with reg seats, steel brakes, extended leather w/ platinum stitching, fire extinguisher, carbon trim, smoker's pkg, and a full extended tank of 93 at 3117 lbs. What is your take on this vs the Porsche claimed curb weight of 2955 lbs?

Rob,that's the head of the bolt not the nut. I checked the camber f-1.5 both sides,r-1.3&-1.4. Waiting for the suspension to settle to do the toe and thrust.
To reduce unedsteer you can increase the f camber and or stiffen the rear bar or soften the front. What most people don't know is you don't have to change both sides of the bars. You can get a finer adjustment by only moving one link stiffer. So in essence a 3 way adjustable bar is really a 6 way. PCCB is ~40lbs lighter (link) than steel.

Factory Li-ion battery option is ~30lbs lighter than standard battery.

Not sure how much the LWB is compared to standard seats. The old GT2 buckets were ~32 lbs lighter (link). The new LWB has electric height adjustment, so it is probably not as light. But since GT2 seats is still an option in Europe, Porsche could have used that to rate the car. So it should be possible to drop ~100lbs while still keeping AC/Radio, at least in Europe.

Default OK on Bolt head

OK on the bolt head Carl.

That is pretty cool to stagger the sway bar settings. I always thought they were to be kept "even".

Did Andreas leave us any easy to use suspension center line marks or fasteners for thrust measurements?

Rob,when you change the setting all your doing is changing the force it takes to twist the bar. So by changing one side you are just making smaller adjustments. i cant remember where i learned it(not fun getting old) but it works really well. Here's how you set and measure thrust.

How did you determine they were flow formed and not forged as was quoted in the original video with AP? Just curious...

Agreed, I personally do not think the A/C delete is worth the inconvenience on a car as luxuriously appointed as the GT4, but then again we live in SoCal.

AP Def said that the wheels were Forged for weight savings.. The weights posted in another thread would confirm this.

Wheel enhancement told me they were flow formed, for whatever thats worth? But they may be wrong. They weigh a little more than the Carrera 20s that are flow formed. The C20s are 8 & 9.5" wide with 235 & 265s VS 8.5 & 11" with 245 & 295s. Flow formed wheels are lighter than cast but heaver than forged. True forged wheels are really expensive. carl
