Even though I've resigned myself to not touching my GT4 until it's out of warranty, I'm absolutely loving this thread.

For the record, i think that the car is one of the best bangs for the buck for performance as a bone stock car. The replacement cost is hard to beat; BUT, I also think that cranking it up to 11 will yield big smiles!

I think the BMW GTS is going to challenge that assumption of best bang for the buck. But in porsche land I agree with your assessment.

Haha, I actually just watched a few (on video) yesterday and it does remind of that.

This is off the charts awesome.. This is the stuff that prevents me from sleeping at night
2 concerns are .....
1- Warranty? I know the answer ( so I am probably going to have to wait ) but maybe not until the end ... Its just too tempting
2- which I hope you can answer.. ? Being there are a lot of guys on this board who reside in The Peoples Republic of California,
we have to worry about passing smog. I am assuming that with the Cobb tuning we can change the Air Fuel mixtures so we can pass ? I can't believe that .2 liters will make that much of a difference ?
TIA
Regards
Ed

Having just gone through recent smog headaches with the new rules in CA (and detuning my 987 because of it), the biggest issue is that all readiness monitors except EVAP control have to work these days. You used to get two freebies.

I love my LW Flywheel. One of the best upgrades I (you) did.

Let me know how that spring clutch works out.

Amazing difference
I know in the 951 there is a benefits to having a heavier flywheel ...
And drawbacks to using a lighter one...
Are there similar issues with lightening the GT4's ?
(I.e. Does turbo vs non turbo play a roll in any of this?)
TIA
Regards

The sprung hub setup worked well on the last 981 track car we did and I will look to back it up again with my car.

No drawbacks; my plan is to use a sprung hub clutch disc on the car to be sure we don't have any annoying chatter from the trans. Other than that, it's free power and torque.
