Whenever I've done mods I've always run a dyno result on my same local dyno and can then compare (within reason) and assess results going right back to the original OEM car which has Porsche publised crank power. If you have a chance run the car on a local dyno before sending off for the engine upgrades.
With the enforcement of the California ecu law which checks the checksum of the ECU, does this mean CA folks are out of luck when it comes to any heavy engine modifications that require ECU tuning?

I would also like to know as I'm close to pulling the trigger on the 4.5L. I know it's a completely different platform but I just recently put the stock tune back on my e92 m3 and it passed no problem.

The problem is the car in the 4.5L configuration probably wouldn't even run with the stock tune....

Have heard the 4.5L cars have passed CA emissions with stock cats on them and the Deman tune but as referenced above there's a new tune check that was just implemented. However, I saw someone with a tuned 997 Turbo post that he passed smog with the aftermarket tune a few weeks ago so not sure anything conclusive exists yet.
Hi all, I recently got my GT4 4.5L conversion done by Deman Motorsports! I am exciting to join here and can't wait to bring my car back to the track.
Could anybody share with me which FB group should I join? Thanks!

I am in Pacific Northwest, i.e. Seattle area.
I am also wondering where everyone is getting the non ethanol gas for their 4.5L GT4!
While I'm only drooling over one of these, I'm in that area too. I know a guy who has a GT4 and is also considering doing this.
You should post your experience on the process for people on this side of the country. I'd be really curious about how it all went down when the shop is 3000 miles away.
